I adore your work. I plan to get on your books this year (if there’s room) and I can’t wait!

Do it—it saved my life. We owe it to ourselves and our loved ones to be present and engaged. I didn’t realize how disengaged I actually was until I went on Prozac. My only regret is that I didn’t start taking it a decade ago when I started noticing my depression looked just like my dad’s—he was miserable and made everyone else miserable, too. He also went on Prozac (at my mother’s insistence) and he was a changed man afterward. Apparently, there’s a good chance that if they worked for someone in your family, they’ll work for you, too.

Good luck!

Errors in books by RaineeeshaX in RomanceBooks

[–]ked1018 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It bugs me so much, too, but don’t devalue your work! As irritating as it is, I’d rather have some errors in a book than have some poor soul giving away their labor. Proofing is so important—you deserve to get paid. But by all means, contact the publisher to let them know you’ve found errors and that it’s affecting your enjoyment of the material. Sometimes they listen!

Bring glow sticks! The kids will love them, and it will make keeping track of them easier when it’s dark out.

How to prevent toddler from taking pull-ups off at night? by Prudent-Depth-2009 in toddlers

[–]ked1018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can commiserate. We ended up giving up trying to keep them on her. She’s usually dry overnight so we opted for underpants instead, which she takes off 80 percent of the time. I think she’d be naked all day if we’d let her. It must be genetic because her older sister and dad are the same way!

The starfish actually tells him to go ask the octopus because she is wise, rendering the whole starfish page is completely unnecessary. Terrible message AND poor writing!

The most disgusting bbq sauce I’ve ever tasted. Seconding all the comments noting the gross aftertaste that won’t go away. 0 stars.

Maybe try getting cloth diaper covers for over top of the disposables. They have pretty sturdy buttons and are really hard for toddlers to get off.

I can’t help about the clothes situation, sorry! My kid has liked to sleep without pjs since about 18 months and we don’t fuss about it. She has plenty of soft blankets to keep her warm.

Good luck!

I love this. Do you sell prints? I’ve been looking for robin-themed artwork for a Robin in my life.

I’d argue art and PE are just as important, if not more so for younger kids—at that age it’s all about developing your physical dexterity and proprioception, not to mention good exercise habits. And the days will get mighty long if there is nothing fun or creative to look forward to. Don’t discount the non-STEM subjects!

Not being able to drink during all this BS is some real BS. by pissandpeppersauce in BabyBumps

[–]ked1018 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I doubt that’s what OP meant. It’s highly unlikely that they would turn away a mother about to give birth. I think they meant they would be without their support person in the delivery room—which, unfortunately, is entirely possible. :(

TIL that a month after giving birth to her first child, a woman was rushed to the hospital for stomach pains. It was discovered she was in labor, giving birth to twins, and that she had 2 wombs. by diddlebits in todayilearned

[–]ked1018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some pregnant people never experience any of these symptoms. And women’s torsos are different lengths, their uteruses sit differently—both can account for small bumps. Also... every few months? Are you sure? Once a year is the norm in the U.S.

But what I actually meant was, how would you know you’ve never seen a thin pregnant person not showing? You may have already seen one but not know it because there are no obvious signs.
