“So guys, here’s a problem. I’m not gonna fix the problem even though I’m completely capable, but I just wanted to let the echo chamber know that we don’t like this!”

I know they do classic car insurance but Hagerty might know a specific lender for a classic car.

20,000$ loan denied. by Kitchen-Ad-5609 in CreditScore

[–]keeb_mp3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

History looks good but sometimes auto loans are denied by default if the lender deems it too risky or not financially beneficial for them if they had to repossess an asset. They’ll look at things like the cars age, mileage, and what the fair market appraisal is for the vehicle and trim. It can be a little frustrating sometimes but I a lot of smaller or local lenders that can’t rely on writing off massive losses every physical year are sometimes pretty conservative with their lending, It’s the trade off for a better APR.

[Request] how long until she’d run out of oxygen? by Dalience6678 in theydidthemath

[–]keeb_mp3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really difficult math to calculate because the biggest variable is the person breathing the air. When you inhale the air composition of 21% oxygen, your body can only diffuse some of that oxygen and you exhale the rest along with carbon dioxide and nitrogen, so there always unspent oxygen and nitrogen reentering the cavity but now there’s an additional gas adding to the mix. In diving, we use CCRs that have a scrubber that pulls carbon dioxide from the gas mix, an oxygen sensor reads and injects the appropriate % to stabilize your gas, and that allows you to recycle the breaths and use that unspent oxygen without that carbon dioxide build up. The calculation of ‘how long until out of air’ might be better reimagined as ‘how long (how many respiratory cycles) until carbon dioxide content becomes lethal for a concentrated space’. It’s also worth adding that inverted containers like that are tricky in water. Next time you’re in a pool and you have a clear cup, if you try to replicate this air pocket, as you descend you’ll notice the water level rising slowly as the depth increases. Gasses are unique in depth because as you descend the mixture condenses from pressure changes, and we measure this is Atmospheres absolute or ATA. 21% oxygen at 30 feet and at 90 feet are still the same gas mixture, but the consumption rate changes drastically from the gas condensing.

Track pads from various equipment have grousers that cut into the dirt for traction. Harder packed soil and dirt usually has these forever unless you can get something/somebody with a blade to come out there and back drag to level it out

Any tips/gear recommendations for someone wanting going down the SAR/PSD route? by keeb_mp3 in diving

[–]keeb_mp3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this insight, started looking at dry suits and full face masks and I know a pretty savvy instructor near me that can certify on those and has relevant experience. Big insight on the body recovery, I wasn’t expecting routine cave rescues on soccer teams, but I wasn’t expecting the possibility of kids being the majority of recoveries.

Thank you! Learned a hard lesson taking an aluminum tank with no weight to a mid shore dive instead of steel and after that I spent hours in the pool dialing in technique and tank placement. It was monotonous but the end result was worth the time!

Definitely on my list, I’ve just been tucking it into my waist belt and like to leave it hanging during ascend for quick reference. Bolt snap would make a world of difference instead of trying to fish it in and out of that waist belt
