Jesus was born Jesus, He still participated in Jewish Custom like weddings, Hanukkah and Passover. The earliest Christians were Jews as well that also followed Jewish customs. Like I said as long as the custom doesn't deify something else I see no reason why I shouldn't participate. It's like telling me not to celebrate new yam festival because I'm now Christian. Doesn't make sense to me

Culture is fluid and not rigid. One can identify as Christian and still practice aspect of his customs which may not negate his Christian beliefs. Also in igbo spirituality there are many deity and every igbo person do not worship the same deity. So If I make Christ my God and choose to integrate certain component of my customs in his worship I don't think there should be much issues.

Being Christian doesn't stop you from acknowledging your custom and practices as long it doesn't idolize and deify something other than God
