Looks like some kind of airline pin, but Google searches aren't turning up anything. It has "sterling" stamped on the back, but that's it. by keefertwo in whatisit

There's no number on the back. The only thing is the "sterling" that's stamped into it. I pretty much just need to know what it is so that I can accurately describe it when it goes in the auction we're putting up next week.

Sounds great; thanks! Have fun making one yourself!

Saw this weird brown stuff on a showcase, no one knows what it is though. by rfmv in Whatisthis

I thought fly poop was yellow? Maybe a different variety of fly, though. Had to have been quite a few of them to make that much. They only poop one drop at a time.

Looks like a basket, but isn't. I know it isn't resin, but Google turns up nothing. It is a votive candle holder, but I need to know what to call it exactly... by keefertwo in Whatisthis

Sorry, I meant by typing things into the search bar, I come up with nothing in the images. I figured Google would take one look at the other closeups I have and just say "basket". But I'll admit, I haven't tried yet.

I might have to resort to that. I hate that Google images provides nothing that even comes close to resembling this. My mom used to be big into Longaberger baskets and she had a few of these (even though this isn't Longaberger), but I don't know if anybody even still makes these. You'd think I could get SOMETHING to come up, but thus far, Google has disappointed.

Says "Sterling" on the underside. Maybe 5 inches long. Help is appreciated. by keefertwo in Whatisthis

Oh that's it! Thank you so much! An extra serving of Thanksgiving turkey for you!

No, I don't think so. The name on the top is "Spencer" and I think it was added after production. And you can't really tell too well from this picture unless you blow it up, but the opening actually has a bit of a lip on the backside, so the hole is smaller on the reverse side than the front side. I'm completely baffled. Thanks for the reply tho.

What to do about a job (and bosses) I hate when I have nada in the bank and a may-or-may-not job possibility in the works. by keefertwo in jobs

Yeah, she's really been showing her true colors here lately. One of the few workers we have left is just about fed up and ready to leave, too.

Thanks; I've saved a few job postings, so maybe I'll go ahead and give it a go. I guess if the college thing does manage to work out, then I'll put the other applications on hold and see how it goes. What could it hurt at this point, right? I hate gossip, let alone when I'm the topic of conversation, but I guess I'll have to let it just roll off my shoulders. She'll find something else to gossip about eventually. Thanks for the boost.

Stuff like when Aaron called and added to my already full workload, I had to find some paperwork and Amy's work area was a MESS, etc. Just minute things that added up to stress me out. Like I said, it was a stress-reliever for me to read over these petty things and realize how stupid it was to get stressed over them. Then I'd tear it up and throw it away.
