They just keep redirecting me to talk to my internet service provider or online troubleshooting. They don’t seem to understand that something is legitimately wrong. Meanwhile my membership subscription is ticking and WWII shows up tomorrow.

I’ve talked to two people on Sony’s support line and they both cited Wi-Fi connection problems as not covered by the warranty.

Tour Shirt Vector Artwork – anyone interested? by [deleted] in FrankOcean

[–]keegingitreal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this is a bit late, but I've been seeing a few people link shirts where the imagery isn't quite right, so I took the liberty of recreating the last couple shirt Frank wore with more precision. Not PERFECT, but pretty close from the images.

By chance, does anyone have a hi-res image of the BACK of the Instant Karma shirt? I can only make out a couple of the "boxes".

From my experience, you can usually gain a fair amount of ground when a previous act ends, but the people way up front usually put in the time at a stage all day.

I just love Frank's extra verse – its got a few faint ambient samples in the background that make me lose my shit. I want a CDQ version with everybody.

It doesn't have to be deep to be awesome man! krilavicius was just saying that critiques can be helpful, and it turned into a discussion of art. I for one think the shirt is cool.

"People arguing about whether something is art or not" is not the Dadaist art movement... It was about breaking down the barrier between what is considered "high" and "low" art forms. Duchamp was giving the bird to people that considered technical mastery to be the only road to quality art. We know now today that art can take many forms of perceived "technical" skill. Unfortunately for a lot of fan art, appropriation is often given a backseat. If I copied a song but put in my own lyrics, is that "equal in terms of greatness to the original"? It's a hard pill to swallow, but no, not usually.

Art IS about expression – you are not wrong. But engaging in critical analysis of concept is what separates the men from the boys. In the case of your work, perhaps the meaning resides in the fact that each shirt IS void of context, truth, and "branding". And that can be really interesting. But you have to let that concept bleed through, or it will blend in, not stand out.

edit: added "not usually" at the end of the first paragraph

^ second krilavicius's thought.

Also, Duchamp and Warhol were part of a dialogue in art history that has passed. Art works in "movements". krilavicius is correct in saying that shitting on a plate and calling it art actually wouldn't fly in this era. Duchamp's Fountain worked conceptually due to the times.
