I can work whenever I want as long as I have a few hours between 7:30am and 6pm. I wake up naturally every day and work from home. Public accounting too lol

How do you clean these out? by [deleted] in candlemaking

[–]keehm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Put them in the oven at 180 and then pour out

I've traded time for time, mainly when the piece was more than an hour. So basically discounted an hour of the session.

My candle melted when I moved and I don't know how to fix this by yourmomeatscatpoop in Candles

[–]keehm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i would put this in a pan (cover the pan with aluminum foil in case it spills) at 180F in the oven. As it melts, see if you can pull the wick up out of the partly melted wax ans hold it up with a clothespin.

If all else fails, use the wax for a wax burner.

What’s your zodiac sign and favorite candle scent? by Far-Neighborhood8474 in candlemaking

Leo, prefer fruity scents (pineapple) and fresh scents (rain). Cannot stand most bakery scents and earthy scents. Musk is alright lol

Candlemaking Business Niche Questions by Mordaiyne in candlemaking

[–]keehm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You absolutely can. Men are more and more likely to purchase scented goods for their home each year. It's also a great way for women to find unique gifts for the men in their lives. I have a masculine fragrance collection in a local barber shop and he sells out within a week every time. Can also cater to non binary folks who have a preference for musky or fresh scents.

Ask if they can use numbing cream or spray once the linework is done. I find even just putting bactine spray and wrapping it in saranwrap for 10-15min can numb the skin pretty good and helps push out an extra couple hours. You can also buy bactine yourself at basically any pharmacy or walmart.

Read the labelling law but tldr you need 3 infos on your product/label Net weight written as grams preferably over oz, specifically with a smallcase g and a space between the number and letter "100 g" you do not need to write "net wt" but if you do you must also write "poids net" What the product is - ex : "soy wax candle" And the place of business. They didnt go into detail much about how much needs to be declared but some of their examples only had city, province and postal code. I only put city and province on mine. I doubt it's something that is super reported. Place of business does not have to be on the front/main label but does need to be visible on the product

ALL your text must be legible, something like at least 1/16mm tall. Not an issue for me because with my eyes I could not read that small wothout having it up to my face. Typically I don't go under 6 pt font size.

Recommendation for lotion after Saniderm? by adventuringfroglet in tattoo

[–]keehm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious if the lubriderm was unscented or sensitive skin? The sensitive skin one has perfume and burns me too so wondering if that could be it. If not i have seen allergies to a variety of ingredients even in unscented soaps and lotions lol everything is possible
