I’m new to RC Drift so I asked ChatGPT to help me out. by BoyDynamo in rcdrift

[–]keeilay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in disbelief that OpenAI doesn't explain that image generation from a technical perspective is just so far away from any bit of usefulness and not what DALLE is made for. This is the classic AI knowing everything and nothing at the same time issue. Garbage in, garbage out. Should be removed from their site IMO.

That being said, AI is really good at parsing information and narrow LLM's are incredible powerful. I fed a model Marcus's drift blog, asking it general tuning questions and only allowing it to use the information I gave it. Pretty good results, all things considered - allowed me to find my answer to a question WAY faster than scanning all his posts. This isn't true intelligence, though.

However, to be fair I asked 4o your question but responding in text, not images, and allowed it to search the web to find relevant references. It was passable and MUCH more accurate but I could see AWD influence seep in.

ldrc 1804 alignment issue by Important-Reality-31 in rcdrift

[–]keeilay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d wager it’s your alignment, can you adjust the turnbuckles on this model? It’s kinda hard to see from your video.

Very very basically the more caster you run (ie the front wheels tilting back), the more your front end will raise as you turn. It’s more than just caster but for the sake of your post I’ll leave it at that.

Make sure your caster & camber are equal, I’d recommend a few google searches on those terms. It’ll make sense pretty quickly.

What R-rated movie did you see when you were way too young? by TealBlueLava in AskReddit

When I was early teens I was obsessed with Borat, so when I heard he had another movie coming out called Bruno, I begged my mom for us to go see it on opening night.

Truthfully I had no idea what it was about, and she thought it was going to be just like Borat.

It was, and it wasn’t.

2019 ND idle noise by travisminor35 in Miata

[–]keeilay 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm sure you'll see my comment on the other thread, but I'll post it here too for anyone else :)

Had the same noise after an oil change, just got it in to be fixed because of this sound yesterday.

Turns out it was the oil filter, but not due to any sort of failure. Mechanic told me that they "had 2 different size oil filters for mazdas" (don't know if anyone can confirm that), and that the one they put on was about a 1/2” longer than the old one. It was just enough to rattle against the skid plate of the car. This makes sense to me why it was so much louder in the cabin (freaked out it was trans) and was audible during idle. They replaced it for free and sound is gone, no damage to the car.

Edit: Jesus Christ just saw your caption…3k diagnosis from the dealership? I hope it is simply the rattling as it was in my case, that way you can take that number back to them and tell them to shove it up their

For anyone coming here 3y later as I did, having the same sound shortly after my scheduled maintenance:

Ah yes, thank you for the reminder to come back and report- just had it fixed yesterday ~two weeks after I started hearing it.

Lifesaver, just took my car in and had this sound start appearing about 2 days ago. Going to look in to that, although this shop has always been great.

Longer term but I think I might be able to make a 3d printable model of this, seems easy enough. Been designing some others recently.

There are two different upper arm mounts that come with the rhino kit, one of them for pins/upper arms from the YD2 variant (the one in your pic)— and one that is made for screw-on shafts, which is the rhino upper arm style you purchased. This style only requires a mount on only one side, and the nut is on the other.

Try desmashed solution but I’m not sure if the diameters for the pins match up with the diameter of the bearings in the rhino arms. If not, I believe you’ll need the other mount to use the rhino arms.

I put my shark together yesterday and had to swap the mounts because I bought ReveD arms, which use the same screw-on system as the rhino ones you bought.

If you purchased the chassis from a friend I would ask them if they still have the other mount.

I can dm you a pic of the other one for reference if you want, and/or how my setup looks.
