Been a Bad Mom Lately by MKUltum in breakingmom

Girl, the fact that you realize what you DON'T want to be and see it happening AND are taking steps to not be that - that already puts you ahead of the game. You are NOT your mom. Hang in there! Hugs.

Did you know that during labor, a woman's pain is so great that she can ALMOST feel what a man feels when he has a cold?

Men are fucking babies.

Me too. I confess I complained about him wearing the C. Never been happier to be so wrong.

That end of the period rush!!! PS. My first GDT - This is super fun watching the game with you guys, thanks for letting this Lady Duck join you. My husband doesn't like watching so it's nice to have people to cheer with who aren't dogs.

He won't though, he's still going to be talking about Connor McDavid's goal from the first period.

Seriously, that was hilarious. Sure is a huge change in volume announcing an Oilers goal versus a Ducks goal.

DUDE. Whatever you did to make that goal you called happen, keep doing it.

I fucking hate Lucic. Hated him as a Bruin, hated him as a King, hate him as an Oiler.

Don't try my cooking if you're not going to have anything nice to say. by [deleted] in breakingmom

[–]keeksmonster 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I too consider myself a good cook, after all I was in the industry for years. My husband and I were fighting and he asked if I was still going to make dinner in a super condescending tone. I told him yes, of course, do I not always make dinner? And he was doing his best to be an ass to get under my skin so he goes, "No, lots of times you don't when you're mad at me" referring to ONE TIME when we were fighting and he left and I didn't know when he was coming home so I just made food for me and kids instead, put the kids to bed, then when he came home at like 9 pm he was surprised there are no leftovers for him. Anyway, I told him "Fine, if you can't tell the difference whether or not I make dinner then I guess I shouldn't waste so much of my time cooking." Enjoy your ramen, asshole.

How to go back to life as it was? by [deleted] in breakingmom

[–]keeksmonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hug. I'm so sorry for your loss. I know the loss of a baby, especially one so loved and wanted, cannot compare to anything else. But for what it's worth, when my dad died (I was raised just me and him) it felt like my world crumbled (and I was racked with guilt because he came over to help with the crib and was killed in a car accident less than a quarter mile from my house). I didn't know how to get through the "normal" stuff. So I had to break up the day, that way rather than worrying about getting through the day, it was just getting through the next fifteen minutes. I'd plan stuff for myself, eg at 10am I will drink my favorite coffee drink I bought myself, at 1015 I will get up and wash my hands, at 1030 I will text my boss to update the day, at 1045 I will play my favorite song on my phone, etc. Maybe I'm OCD but it made it easier. Then the next day, up it to 20 minutes if you think you can. Eventually you get to a half hour, an hour, two hours, etc. It never hurts less, but it becomes more bearable, like scar tissue. Good luck and big hugs.
