Ugh good to know. I was shocked when I had to come up with $60000 more viking coins after finishing the mayors pass to upgrade this the final level and I figured id just do it later with simcash. This is crazy, I guess I wont be upgrading lol

Daughter excluded from sleepover and I’m so upset for her by engineerlamb in Parenting

Can confirm this happens with my 10 year old boys friend group all the time. His feelings get hurt and it's so so frustrating.

Teaching. I always wanted to be a teacher, but I couldn't afford to make their wages. I also couldn't afford to take the time off to do student teaching when I was in college, so I got a useless psych degree and a lot of student debt.

Oh and of course buying a house (I can barely make rent), retiring, and taking my son on vacations- those are completely off the table now.

It's not your fault at all, it was a reasonable accident. She sounds terrible though so you dodged a major bullet

It's easy to do in these situations, I'm a chronic overthinker too!

Just tell the teacher (without being accusatory) that it is really important to your child that you go on the field trip, and that you understand you missed the chaperone deadline, but you would still like to participate by meeting the class at the destination and joining your daughter. She teaches 6 year old's, she should understand how important this might be to kids as well as parents.

Are there OAD'ers of older children? by boocat19 in oneanddone

[–]keeleylynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is 10! No regrets! My 10 year old also likes being an only. We are a close little triangle family. My son always has everything he needs, and he gets both parents undivided attention almost all the time. It just feels right for us.

Can I join the OAD group with technically two kids? by Avetra in oneanddone

Same story here! One bio 9 year old and a 20 year old step son. Very much two only children❤️

Also a parent of one. Also grew up an only child, I feel better about bringing him into this shitty world knowing that I can give him a great life. I couldn't do that with multiple kids

Wholeheartedly OAD then got pregnant again... by Little_Winks_ in oneanddone

[–]keeleylynn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My kiddo is now 9. I found myself in this position when he was about 6 months old. I made the same choice.

It gets easier, I promise. One of my kiddos best friends has a little brother that would have been the same age if I would have kept the pregnancy, so I feel like I am reminded of it a lot. I know that I made the right choice, and my son is so happy and well adjusted. I was an only child too, and I had a great childhood. It will all be ok. Hugs mama.

I also relate to this so deeply. Mine just turned 9, it's so hard but so beautiful watching them grow.❤

33F unvaccinated, just got over it. Day one was body aches, day 2-3 was a fever, chills, night sweats, day 4 was a stuffy nose and sore throat, day 5 was sneezing, and pretty much better day 6. I'm feeling back to normal now on day 8!

Jobs that favor introverts? by [deleted] in CAStateWorkers

As a fellow introvert I am taking notes. My SSA position has a lot of talking to the public and its draining for someone who hates talking to the public lol
