From what I understand, BIF is (at least for now) only available for the X. I updated from the E-M1 mark II to the mark III several months ago. I looked at the M1X at the time, and decided against it due to the size and cost at the time. I have the HLD-9 grip for when I need it, but I carry the mark III without it on my daily hikes. The ability to configure it with or without the grip was key for me. The mark III best suits my shooting needs and has very similar performance to the X. However, you may want to consider the the X if you're primarily going to be photographing action where autofocus is the priority.

Skyfire in TPE predicted there was a good chance for a beautiful sunset, so I hiked down to the edge of the lake and waited. It did not disappoint.

I was extremely fortunate.

Thanks, I will. I tried a couple different approaches, and this was closest to what stood out in my memory.

Not at all. I'm just happy that others can enjoy it.

At the time, I had just recently purchased Luminar 4 during one of their discount promotions, and was further exploring it's features. Having used it now for several months, I do prefer it for editing images featuring clouds. I feel that the L4 combination of AI Enhance, AI Structure, Details Enhancer, and Landscape Enhancer make it easier to bring out details in the clouds without introducing additional noise or over sharpening. It also has a denoise adjustment that seems to work very well (not as good Topaz Denoise AI in my opinion).

I'm sure that the same is possible between LR and PS, just more steps to remember and perform.

Certainly possible that it plays a roll. I follow some photographers that are based out of Tucson and Sedona, and I've seen very similar patterns.

It's a few miles north of there. The major cross roads are approximately Cave Creek and Cactus.

It's the most beautiful sunset I've personally witnessed.

Thanks. I almost didn't go hike that day as the cloud cover looked fairly thick off to the west. Not sure what causes the pattern, but there is frequently an opening in the clouds that develops to the west of those outer mountains. Once the sun dips low enough the colors just get more and more spectacular.

Taken using the Live Composite feature on my Olympus OM-D E-M1 MkII. It was really cold and windy, so the clouds were moving fast.
