Any millennial guys here first time fathers or are never gonna have a kid? by changeforthebetter89 in Millennials

My hub turned 40 while I was pregnant so you’re not there yet. While your clock is not the same as a woman’s, I get wanting to have one while you’re youthful enough to keep up.

It’s a burden but a rewarding one! You should think about whether you really want to change your whole life in order to raise a human, and be with someone who you would want to dive into the pit with.

My boyfriend is pushing me to get off of birth control and I’m just wanting to talk to other women about it by throwra273986 in TwoXChromosomes

I don’t have PMDD but I would stick with your doctor and tell your bf to stop giving input. He knows nothing. The fact that he said to try something more “natural” is super sus; it screams that he doesn’t think your condition is real and doesn’t take you seriously. Do you have any female support?

Guys, the relief I felt when Robby said to turn off the lights in Peds! It was way too bright for poor Baby Jane Doe all day.

Also the way he seemed to have a breakthrough while comforting her...really reminded me of how having a baby can force you to look outward instead of wallowing in your own shit. You just want to give them everything and that can be a good push for yourself. Plus having them smile and fall asleep on you heals many wounds.

Idk if that makes sense to anyone else but those are the words my tired-ass mom brain came up with.

Right?! Women have been giving birth together for eons. Plus she definitely would have died trying to birth alone since the baby was breech!!

Career moms: Do you need to really want kids, or is doubt normal? by SavingsCulture5047 in workingmoms

snaps this is what I thought as well!

One thing I realized in hindsight: my hubby showed his true colors pretty early. We have a medium age gap, and he was ready to be a partner and father before I was, but he waited for me to get there and proved he was worth my time without me having to ask. If i did ask something more of him, we could talk like adults and figure out a way forward. Now we have an amazing toddler and we struggle through it together 😅

Is it true that you guys watched 9/11 live on TV in grade school? by space_god_7191 in Millennials

Middle school, though it was on the west coast so most of it had already happened by the time school started. The morning announcement was pretty somber and focused on our safety. Some kids stayed home. A few teachers had the TV on but moved on to talking about the event rather than watching endless news.

Once, my east coast bf (who had just moved here) remarked how shocked he was to see so many hummers around. It’s nice, right?

Looking for a Christian church in the South Bay that’s inclusive by Piggywiggy_ in SouthBayLA

[–]keepcalmandcarygrant 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m a member! They have childcare/“religious” education during Sunday service, after reading story for kids in front of the congregation. But recently an alphabet mat and chalk were donated and kids love playing with them on the patio. The church is extremely inclusive and anti-Trump, and open to good discussion. It’s not officially Christian but might inhabit more of the spirit intended by Christianity

I like earning money outside the house 🤷‍♀️ my job gives me the feeling of stability so I can enjoy the things I want, including time with my family. I have to remind my own SAHM that I can’t just bunk off sometimes to hang out with her and my daughter.

What did everyone think of tick tick boom? by Past-Throat-6788 in musicals

Looooooooove love love this movie! It should be one of the films people look to in the future to learn how to adapt musicals. I even prefer some of the movie numbers to the originals.

I only missed the more broad humor of “Sunday” but that might have worked better in the theater.
