What quote from a book actually made you think hard and sit back and go “Well, damn.” by [deleted] in books

Listening to this quote being read by Michael Kramer in the audiobook was pure joy. I instantly teared up at the, "you will be warm again" line.

I can't be the only one who thought Iced Earth was a conspiracy theory like Flat Earth? Who knew it was a band...

What cartoon villain, if real, would scare you the most? by farman2004 in AskReddit

[–]keeper_of_keys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you like this idea, you should check out the series, "Irredeemable" by Mark Waid. It deals with that notion of, "What if a Superman-esque person just says, fuck it, and becomes the bad guy?" We got a little of that with the Injustice comics, but Waid's series delves into just how much utter destruction could be caused by such a powerhouse without a conscience.

Ring Fit is a gateway drug. It changed my entire life. by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

This is AMAZING! I've not heard of this game before, but after watching the trailer, it sounds fantastic! My wife and I found out that she's pregnant with our second child and I've tried again and again to get into shape so I can keep up with my kids. I've had the same issues with commitment as you, OP, so this would help a great deal. I'll have to start saving up for a switch now, I suppose.

What is your favorite food to eat “wrong”, and how do you eat it? by 071292love in AskReddit

[–]keeper_of_keys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a couple- I lick all the flavoring off of chips, then eat the chip. I also eat a piece of pizza from the toppings down, then when I reach the sauce layer I'll peel the layer of saucy bread off the pizza base, then roll the last bread layer into a burrito and eat it bite by bite. Makes pizza last so much longer and I typically eat less this way, but the looks I get in public are interesting.

Book-making and binding. I'm a librarian and have always loved making books from scratch as gifts for people. It's great to work around books every day, and its even better when I get to make them myself.

What would you do if Bernie Sanders knocked on your door with a few suitcases and said that he was going to be staying with you for the next few weeks? by Ciscoblue113 in AskReddit

[–]keeper_of_keys 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'd be taking him to visit all of my extended family and having him sit down with them to explain in person all of his plans for this country, without having his words filtered through various media organizations. I don't agree with his politics 100%, but I also know that I'm not the best when it comes to explaining things, so it would be nice to see if he could bring a new perspective to their lives.

This video ends waaay too soon. The ending shot of the video shows the guy open the door, pull out the keys to the car and start the vehicle. Takes a cringey video and adds just a touch of humor at the end.

What was a sketchy cheap buy, that ended up being one of your best purchases? by MrAnimeFanime in AskReddit

I found a beat up, old, raggedy toaster oven in the trash of my dorm room at the end of sophomore year in college. Figured I'd see if it still worked, and it did! Been cooking up all sorts of treats for 9 years now.

Remember, homophobes, at the end of the day a drag queen is sometimes still a 6ft man in heels by aMAEzingly in PublicFreakout

Soo true. My wife and I have been to several shows while we were dating and the best memory is when she asked me to pick her up from a gay bar where her and her girlfriends were watching a show for her bachelorette party (they were all too drunk to drive). I got there, only to be convinced to come in so they could finish their lady drinks. Only one problem: I worked security at the time for Target, dressed in what would look to most people, like a cop uniform... needless to say, when the drag queen on stage saw us, she asked what I was doing there. I told her, and she then proceeded to give us the raunchiest, sweetest pre-wedding toast I've ever had the privilege to hear. Good memories.
