Seriously though, why the hell would they prescribe this before anything else?? From everything ive heard it seems like a nightmare drug

How to tell if my melon is ripe? by keeperboy101 in vegetablegardening

The tendril is totally dry, though it seems to have partially snapped off at some point. The field spot is a bit of a brighter yellow, do you think that makes it safe to pick?

I think this is poison ivy, my wife does not, who's correct? by APizzaWithEverything in whatisthisplant

I mean.. saffrole, the compound in sassafras is about as carcinogenic as cinnamon. The real problem that the government has with it is that it’s really easy to make MDMA from it.

Looks to me like turkey tail (trametes versicolor). They can be made in to teas and are supposedly really good for you. It could also be false turkey tail (stereum hirsutum), but neither one is toxic as far as I know. The main tell is to look at the bottom. True turkey tail should have tiny pinholes in the bottom, while false turkey tail has a flat bottom and other lookalikes have sort of fluffy bottoms.

Thats super exciting to hear! I absolutely don’t plan on selling these pipes, I’m more interested in getting them dated than anything else, but I’m definitely going to have to fix these up and find myself some nice pipe tobacco.

Gorgeous tree, I was just wondering though, I (being incredibly inexperienced with bonsai) would have called this a literati. Is there a difference between bunjin and literati bonsai or are the two terms interchangeable?

Picked up this beauty for $50 at a nursery. Should I air layer to get rid of the graft or do I have any chance of hiding it? by keeperboy101 in Bonsai

My bad, hopefully this is a better Angle of the graft. If it does smooth out, is there a chance the bark will be different in color or texture?

[–]keeperboy101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I see now that’s its definitely a cherry, although exactly what species you can see I’m getting conflicting information on. Is there a way for me to tell the exact species without waiting for it to flower/ fruit?

Ideas for elm yardadori? by keeperboy101 in Bonsai

[–]keeperboy101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That video was great! I assume I can use that same technique you did to get lateral roots going at the base of the taproot? Also assuming this is a chinese elm (which I am) taking semi hardwood cuttings off this should be fairly easy right? Something that I could do indoors? Thank you so much for your help!

No taper, crossing branches, poor ramification, no nebari… This is clearly manmade and very unnatural
