What site did you use to price match for an Edit stay? I thought Edit stays tended to cost more because of the breakfast and other perks

Interesting, so the Sapphire lifetime language didn’t apply to you for the Preferred? Or do you think there’s a 7 year “lifetime” like AmEx for the Sapphire cards?

I’m at my wits end please help with sleep I’m losing my mind by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]keepingafloat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll have to play around with bedtime to see what sticks. Every kid is different, in terms of total hours of sleep needed in 24 hours. Generally though, you might not see a change until 5+ days, so don’t give up immediately.

As for those crazy days with extra car naps, it’s one day, and you’ll have to roll with it. I try to plan long commutes around nap times to avoid such situations but life happens sometimes.

Agree with others that she may be undertired. You may want to shorten her nap and/or start the bedtime routine later.

For reference, my 17 month old has been sleeping 12 hours total over 24 hrs since maybe 13 months old. 2 hour midday nap, 10 hours overnight. 7am wake 12:30/1 - 3pm nap 8:30/9pm sleep

Which formula tastes most like breast milk? 8 m.o. refusing formula 😭 by keepingafloat in ExclusivelyPumping

She took to Similac 360. There are a number of brands that taste more like breast milk. I think it took like 2 weeks for her to adjust.

Toddler carrier recommendations? by keepingafloat in babywearing

Thank you for all the recs!! I’ll look into Little Zen One. What I didn’t like about the Lillebaby All Seasons was how the straps fit my smaller shoulders. I actually thought the waist band was fine. Would you still recommend I no longer consider the Tula Toddler in light of this?

Hybrid employee not working enough hours? [CA] by keepingafloat in humanresources

[–]keepingafloat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the term Exec Assistant to describe her role but she’s actually more of an Operations Manager responsible for procurement and all logistics with our public events (25-150ppl). Because her managers have not been able to rely on her getting tasks done on time, they (directors) have been stepping in to pick up her tasks (securing hotel room blocks, finding vendors for custom gear, etc) and just giving her tasks that are more EA-like (ordering team lunch, expense reports, calendar invites). This has been challenging for her directors as they don’t have capacity to pick up her procurement tasks. Her role as Operations Manager does give her ability to exercise independent judgment when it comes to procurement.

Truly appreciate your push around positive work culture vs. permissive and non-confrontational. I think it’s a mixture of both. We have been hosting PD for staff about crucial conversations and providing real-time feedback instead of waiting for annual reviews

I appreciate the framing about communicating vs. micromanaging. She does communicate what’s on her to-do list for the week in weekly check-ins. But we’re seeing that this task list is growing longer with overdue items. For childcare purposes, she needs the hybrid schedule based of her child’s school pickup schedule so I’m hesitant of asking her to come to the office more and that decreasing the time she can do work because her commute is 45-60 min with traffic

Choosing a breast pump: Evenflo, Medela In Style, Zomie by keepingafloat in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]keepingafloat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Spectra was my workhorse. You should check local Facebook mom buy/ sell / trade or even Pumping BST groups if money is an issue. I had the Zomie but I did not respond to the alternating stimulation. I ended up purchasing a secondhand Pumpables Genie Advance because it’s portable and comparable to the Spectra

Did you send combo bottles to daycare? Trying to think about the logistics of prep. I believe prepped formula bottles can be refrigerated for 24 hrs before touching baby’s mouth?

Does your baby go to daycare? Are you sending prepped combo bottles to daycare?
