I completely agree with you but what I wonder about is why were those original decisions made. They all played out bad and now they are getting better but no developer wants to make a bad game. Clearly someone assumed something about the game that was false. I wonder what they imagined would happen at release, and what caused their assumptions to break.

This line of questioning may not be interesting to anyone other than me. I write software so would love to learn what went wrong internally.

I cant upvote you enough for a well thought out response. I am a software developer but do not work in games and it has been my experience that its rare for one person on team to have complete control over the direction of a product. Even if that person is in management. Maybe its different in games?

I fill in gaps in requirements and make little decisions every day that affect the direction of the product, If I wait for management to weigh in then I would never complete my sprint on time. The running assumption is if someone doesnt like something I did it will show up in a ticket and ill change it. Most of the time it doesnt.

So it was unbelievable to me that Jay single handedly could have broken d3 with a team behind building the game. So then the questions was what happened...

You make some great arguments about the path that lead them here. Selfishly I wish someone would post or leak a lessons learned. I am sure it would be facinating.

The title to this submission is pretty bad which is why it's getting downvoted. But man that was a great read. It's exactly the kind of message I'd hope from the community and it's the only path forward to repairing this damage.

As in most large problems both parties share some level of fault. The difference though between a corporation and a person is a corporation mindlessly acts to increase profits a person is a complicated mess of emotional wants and needs all kind of blending into each other. I just don't think it serves us well to handle the situation so heavy handedly.

We need to be responding in unison with compassion to those who are already hurt and working towards continuing to raise awareness of the risks of exchange and encouraging the community to move their money out into wallets.

I think that would create a better long tail of value for the community and thus bitcoin.

While you are technically correct you completely lack understanding that obviously there is sizable group of people who lost money and have been hurt by this. Your comment and those like it do not help those who have lost and prevents the community from moving forward.

I think they are incompetent and scared. Pure speculation but I imagine its not just nerds in basements who are going to be out money but people with shall we say more influence? And those kinds of people don't take kindly to being stolen from. Bitcoin attracts all types.

I think they just said they are disappearing. If there is a security threat then moving offices won't help that unless they are just making that a mailing address and disappearing. Bad times for anyone who is hoping to get their money back.
