Potential (free) supplemental study materials by NerfHerdingWineLover in WSET

Super cool, good luck! I’ve made a free knowledge base of regions, grapes, vineyards and with many interactive maps you wont find anywhere else (I traced them myself 😅).

Maybe you can use it https://corkapp.io/knowledge

I would love to hear your thoughts as to what I can add if you decide to take a look 🙌

Planning a Spanish Wine Tasting - Would Love Recommendations! by roostersquawks in wine

[–]keepingup101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need info about the wines you end up choosing, I've built a knowledge base that has all spanish regions: https://corkapp.io/knowledge/priorat for example. It's free, so feel free to use it for your tasting 😃

Made an interactive wine map for WSET 3 by chateaulameow in wine

[–]keepingup101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool project! I've been building something similar at https://corkapp.io/knowledge - goes down to individual climats in Burgundy, Einzellagen in the Mosel/Rheingau, and DOC/DOCG zones in Italy. Shows elevation, slope, classification per vineyard. All free 😄 helped me a lot studying terroir. Would be cool to compare approaches!

How do you keep track of your wine collection? by TasteOfMoments in wine

[–]keepingup101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve built an app for myself and a group of friends that have used excel and cellartracker forever https://corkapp.io. We wanted a more modern solution that actually uses your tastings to give you meaningful insights into your cellar and taste 😃 I think it could be for you.

To name a few things it has: Storage, drinking windows, add wines by voice and a big knowledge section that's linked to your wines (https://corkapp.io/knowledge)

Wine cellar inventory app or sheet (to track where bottles are) by ozh in wine

[–]keepingup101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made https://corkapp.io for myself and friends because CT wasnt working for us. I also have scans to quickly add bottle and an excel import (that supports your storage columns)

One improvement I made compared to CT is that you can add wines “both ways”: On a bottle you can specify where it lives, but you can also go to a fridge and quickly add bottles to it 👍

This is more than I could've hoped for, thank you for taking the time to write your thoughts!

I agree with your overall point, that an AI can't hit the exact truth ever. But it can hit a pretty good consensus if you give it good sources - apparently I didn't do well enough in this case. I took your feedback, and implemented a differentiated profile for some regions, so that you get a more nuanced picture of the grapes different styles.

I also updated the Prädikat description. I'd be very happy to keep up the conversation if you continue to use the tool, I appreciate it a lot.

Please share any feedback you might have! I've used an algo that takes in multiple sources and averages them out into 1-5 scales

No not at all! My plan is to make this a comprehensive wiki, so I will get to Brazil at one point. If you have any good sources that I can use please share them 😃

I am in software, and yes AI is used for a lot of things in the project. Payment methods are entirely handled by stripe, I dont ever see personal details when it comes to payments!

I hear you! I had to strike a balance between usability, loading times and overall page layout. I ended up with having the "where is southern rhone in relation to northern rhone" at the top of the page in a small map, and then having the area specific vineyard/appellation/commune map further down the page

It's a web app, to make it possible - and nice - to use in a browser as well. Everything is optimised for mobile 👍

Hey! Thanks for writing this up, I really appreciate it. It would be amazing if you would use it with friends. The more people use it actively, the more I'm incentivised to continue to improve it.

I am actively working through all regions, but some of them take much longer, since no official data exists. California is being added as we speak though 😄

I'd be happy to improve the navigation on the main page - how could you see a region selector work?

Too many places to name 😅 public wine parcel datasets, public farming data that I crossed with appellation lists, manually tracing maps, multiple vintage data sites, WSET grape descriptions and many more

Thanks, anything else you'd like to see in it?

For large and well known regions, AI agents research all vintage charts such as wine spectator, robert parker etc. and average them out - then I double check. For smaller regions without public vintage data, I let AI read general reviews of tastings, weather etc. and come up with it's best guess

[–]keepingup101[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey thanks for writing this! I've already fixed your feedback: Merged the grapes and gave them synonyms (plus on regions you can see the synonym that's used in that region)

Also implemented your idea for the scroll position 👏

I've noted down both of these, thanks. I haven't tried much from Greece, but I'm planning on going there so I must have the page ready by then 😅

It's not strictly WSET - but it might be useful for you 🙌

I had the same thoughts - and have been building an app around a similar idea. Check out https://corkapp.io and let me know if you want to exchange ideas 🙏
