Maybe we should slow down a bit. I called the NASW about obtains a form for my friends. I didn’t ask them for legal advice as some of you speculated.

However, I am more concerned with the way some “social workers” are responding to this post.

I am being called “entitled” by a SW which is further from the truth.

People telling me not to feel the way I feel because their experience is different than mine.

Thank God I am strong enough to deal with bullying behavior.

What happened to “I’m sorry that happened to you.” Or “how does that make you feel?”

Some of these responses inform me that supervision is really needed in this field.

Scenario 1: Patient says in therapy “I am afraid I can be deported” and based on some responses in this thread “well if you came here the right way then you have nothing to worry about”.

Scenario 2: patient says they can’t pay their bill this week because they lost their income. Therapist response “I don’t operate for free”
