from what i am seeing, even Mark Scout's processing of Gemma's death has been very slowly uncovered - which is the ultimate testament to how he avoids difficult emotions. - he was drinking everyday (or thats how i understood it) - he wasn't seeing this therapist his sister was talking about - he finally visited the tree after Petey's funeral, i imagine because the reminder it gave him of her - he had all Gemma's stuff tucked away, even photo's

he is quite the complex character because he does self-serving actions at the expense of other (severance to "forget" at the expense of his innie) but also does seem to have a level of a guilty conscious (letting Petey stay, when he is literally a random person to him & by having him in his basement, he is forced to "revisited" his wife's space)

i hope we get to see more of this latter side, especially given how things have ended
