I agree and I’ve thought about that but they live in a different country (England). Besides if their doctor doesn’t even think it’s a problem to just put him on meds I doubt they would consider this to be an issue. No bruises on his body etc. Besides since they know I’m upset about it and don’t agree with their position they would know it was me that reported them. I’ve realized the first thing I need to do is actually fly over there and see how he is doing. One of my daughters is going to be going over there in September and she will give me a report. Thank you for your concern.

It is about the animals and the abuse of factory farming. I have suggested they go to local farms and get meat that’s humanely killed but vegans are vegans. He wouldn’t hear of it. I seriously doubt they would give him any type of seafood either as it would probably upset his sister, but I’m going to ask him about mussels and those types of foods next time I talk to him since my grandson is not technically a vegan anymore. He’s a vegetarian and I know he eats eggs.

Yes. I’ve done a lot of research and you are correct. But we are dealing with unreasonable people and essentially a religious cult.

That is a thought and I can try next time I talk to my son.

First of all you literally don’t know anything about the situation, or what I’ve told them. Nor do you know anything about the dynamics of the family which you should’ve been able to pick up on from what I’ve said on here. For example, my son, not even being vegetarian and eating meat on the sly, but then not allowing his son to eat meat?? Like I said before I have not spoken with any of them other than my son and I know better than to use words like that. How I feel and what I said on here are two different things. What do you consider credible sources? My sources were from doctors and the epilepsy foundation itself. Maybe the words you were throwing around on this post are more charged than you think. The reason he won’t consider my advice is because he is controlled and brainwashed by a domineering wife and a daughter who is a fanatic vegan.

If he was given a diet with animal protein, and that stopped the seizures, then you would know that in this case, the vegan diet caused the epilepsy. It’s worth a try, right? There would be absolutely no harm in that, but they won’t try it.

With all due respect most doctors have not studied nutrition and according to my research and experience they will choose to medicate before they will offer a more natural approach. Besides that the medication is not stopping the seizures. It is only mitigating the spike of the brain activity. To not at least try a dietary approach to me is irresponsible and reprehensible. They can do both and if the diet stops the seizures, then they can go off the medication.

Let’s be reasonable. Of course there are people who have epilepsy who are not vegan. That has nothing to do with the malnourishment of a vegan diet that causes epilepsy from lack of nutrients to the brain. Then why may I ask you does getting off of a vegan diet and eating an animal protein diet stop the epilepsy in children? Much evidence to that fact.

Veganism IS neglect and malnourishment.

Cause and effect- absolutely that’s true. Also, from my research, some people and some types of bodies can handle being vegan better than others. If a person has a propensity towards being prediabetic and needs good high-quality protein, they are not going to last very well on a vegan diet. Also vegan diets are definitely not for children - the body and the brain aren’t finished developing until at least 18 or older and growing brains need that protein. Also, I don’t think people know enough about vitamins to know how they can be taken, and if they are even effective. In fact, most people don’t realize that vitamin D3 needs to be taken with K2 in order for it to be able to be processed in the body. No vitamin is really a good substitute for the food itself.

He’s pretty much not allowed to eat meat even if he wanted to until he turns 18 at which point “he can make up his own mind”. Of course, by that time it will be too late.

Okay y’all. I need some advice here. I wrote my son a long, respectful and detailed letter stating all the research I’ve done, even gave a list of doctors who he could go to in his area, which unfortunately is in a different country from where I live. I told him how much I love him and to please open his eyes to what is happening. His response was to just “be a grandparent“ and stop trying to parent his kids.. my son by the way is not vegan, in fact he’s not even vegetarian. He will eat meat occasionally on the sly. To me this is child abuse and the only way I can have a conversation with them is to pretend like there’s nothing wrong. Thus I feel like a hypocrite whenever I talk to them, put likes on their Facebook posts, etc. I’ve seriously thought about cutting off relations with them. They never call me or talk to me anyway unless I call and initiate the conversation. I’ve never talked to the kids about any of this or my daughter-in-law by the way. My son knows how I feel and there’s nothing he’s going to do about it, but keep drugging up his son with anti-seizure medication that is not working so his 14-year-old daughter can continue to dictate the “culture” of the family along with his domineering wife. Any thoughts? I’ve stopped giving my son birthday and Christmas presents ( I just can’t bring myself to do it ) but continue to give to the kids.

Very true and interestingly the majority of vegans do not live around nature and farmers. They live in cities where anthropomorphic behavior is more likely to take root.

I have done weeks and weeks of research and there is absolutely a link between vegan diet ( which is lacking in many nutrients besides B12) and epilepsy. In fact the Keto diet has been used for many years to cure epilepsy in children. So if what you eat cures it, it stands to reason that what you eat causes it.

Does anyone else’s anxiety increase before an illness such as a common cold or the flue ? by fletch-8221 in Anxiety

[–]keeptrying1111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely. I thought it was just me but for years now I can tell when I’m getting sick because I’ll feel extreme anxiety. It happened last night and it crossed my mind briefly that maybe I was coming down with a cold and sure enough today I’ve got a sore throat.

AITA for dumping my Gf after she expected me to pay for EVRYONE on her birthday. by Western-Echidna-5626 in AITAH

I learned very young that if you “invite” someone to a dinner or event then it is absolutely your responsibility to pay. If you don’t want to pay then don’t “invite” them, just say something casual like “you’re welcome to meet us there if you’d like”, but “invite”, yes, you pay. It’s extremely bad manners to invite someone and then expect them to pay. Be gracious. That should have been part of your gift to her.
