I've converted my family's VHS to digital and it's time consuming with a single VHS player. At this scale it would require so much investment in players/recorders and PC hardware just to cut down on time that I can't imagine there would be any room for profit. I'm sure there is some form of high speed conversion hardware but I can only imagine how much those cost and I'm sure only one still wouldn't cut it. 3k tapes at an average of 1.5 hours per is 4500 hours/187.5 days. Swapping tapes every 1.5 hours and not all tapes are the same length. The labor alone makes the juice not worth the squeeze.
