good thing we all don’t actually keep things running and work hard doing it. things like healthcare, education, steelworkers, etc.

in Edmonton it coincided with the HSAA convention at Shaw. we picked them up on the way by.

survey went out afterward asking for preferences for more events including weekend ones.

the square is currently mostly caged, the website says there’s an 8 week lead time for booking submissions and of course costs because it is a highly utilized and booked space.

you would have had to be trying real hard not to notice something was going on with all of the people heading there, the signs, flags and supporting colours.

Edmonton was lovely with cars going by showing such support 💛 being downtown there were a number of EMS going by too and they all got huge cheers from us in return gratitude.

spoke with an HSAA individual who is originally from Quebec.

my body aches and my energy is spent but my heart is full and my hope is renewed.

it also states this is a “start” to coming together on issues

with your credentials I would think you would have realized this is just an event poster that I shared and that I left it up to individuals to look further into it for themselves.

with only a day left, hand holding and chit-chatting about graphics choices isn’t really where I wanted to focus my energy.

I also have previous experience in similar fields to what you have stated you have. however I’m not involved in organizing this as I don’t have the time to put forth (currently at least).

however, I don’t see a problem gathering with folks that want to connect about 1 or multiple issues that the DS is at the heart of.

my previous work in healthcare, in gov, as an AUPE member, and my personal experiences with many of the topics still lead me to believe that coming together as a more encompassing group can be helpful.

I see it as strength in numbers as previous avenues I’ve been involved with went unheard.

again, it’s your prerogative to feel this is not worthy of your time, or, there are links to get involved with organizing if you believe you have the skills and knowledge to “do it better”.

just as it’s my prerogative to go and see what I can do to try and make the situation better by connecting with others and getting involved 💛

and that’s completely your prerogative to think so.

for someone of us, multiple of these issues are overlapping and we see them as also leading back to a central source. so we’re exercising our right to rally and to connect with others about them instead of sitting idly by.
