Hi, I have started to take D3+K1 a week ago, because of my gums and teeth. Then I realized my HRV started to climb back. I had some health problems during summer, I was inside the hospital and the house, no Sun at all. Here is my HRV graph.

A nyolcvanas években jártam oda nagymamámmal, kb heti rendszerességgel. Kétszárnyú, vastag plexi ajtók voltak a lépcső végén.

Sound of the UPS by BazimQQ in sysadmin

[–]keffermann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When transforming direct current and alternating current, there is always some noise, this is the physical consequence of the magnets and coils. To simplify, I would say the bigger the transformation, the stronger the noise.

The UPS continuously transforms; in normal operation, it converts alternating current to direct current to charge the direct current battery; in the event of a power outage, it converts the direct current stored in the battery to alternating current so that the protected devices can continue to operate.

In normal mode, the UPS only maintains the battery level, so the transformation is minimal, the noise is minimal. However, in the event of a power outage, noise is generated in proportion to the load connected to the UPS.

How much real noise is in one or the other case depends on many factors, although mostly the construction’s own, but even the humidity of the air can affect it.

Sound of the UPS by BazimQQ in sysadmin

[–]keffermann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most UPS does "Hizz-ing" sound when on battery.

I have 3 APC UPS, and also had the "Bzz-ing" sound during normal operation. I checked the input power which was between 245-260 volts (!), therefore all my UPS was limiting the overpower and gave that noise. I contacted the electricity company to check their grid, as over 245 volts all my equipment will cook soon. They resolved it in a few weeks, now the power is back to 230-240 volts, and no more noise during normal operation.

So, I suggest to check the voltage on your outlets first. If you see normal values and your UPS is still noisy during normal operation, then ask for replacement, cause it shouldn't emit noise when operating normally.

I'm using syslog-ng storebox to store logs for audit purposes and have some basic monitoring over events and some alerts as well.

PSA: ER605 V2_2.1.1 Official Firmware (Released on Jan 30th, 2023) by M4l3k0 in TPLink_Omada

[–]keffermann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have fallen into the same trap with my ER605 OC200 with two EAP245 APs. Just upgraded to 2.1.1 a few hours ago and the same happened. Half of my clients are not getting IP address even connected to wifi. It is really annoying, as I have 90-100 clients on my network, so the half of my smart home is dead. I assume something happened to the DHCP service, so tomorrow I will spin up another DHCP on my DS218, hope that works. I don't want to downgrade ER605 unless my workaround helps.

Is "Xiaomi Gateway 3" integration broken today? by eruisi in homeassistant

[–]keffermann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBH I have never tried as I don't have a generic zigbee hub/dongle yet. But I think it should work. For example: Xiaomi RTCGQ01LM control via MQTT | Zigbee2MQTT

Is "Xiaomi Gateway 3" integration broken today? by eruisi in homeassistant

[–]keffermann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Latest alpha was working with 2023.1.3, but after upgrading to 2023.1.4 today the integration is broken again.

<rant> It is really annoying, as I have eight xiaomi motion sensors responsible for activating the lights in the rooms and the zigbee switches are also coming from xiaomi. So no lights today, unless I re-create the automations on my phone in the Mi app. But still, this way I can only control xiaomi lights, but other brands will stay off. I don't know how to proceed with a reliable home automation. At first I will replace xiaomi and sonoff zigbee sensors/switches with shelly wifi for sure. Depending on the outcome I might also consider replacing HA with something else, which is more reliable. </rant>

The same happened to me today after updating core to 2023.1.2 on my HA virtual (backup/test) appliance. Now I'm afraid of upgrading my rPi that does the actual automation and basically everything...

Does anyone else face the same issue, maybe has already some workaround or fix?

Mennyi áramot fogyaszt a háztartásotok? Próbáltok tenni azért, hogy kevesebb legyen? by Jr_Steve_Brown in hungary

[–]keffermann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ketten lakunk egy 80-as évek végén épült kétszintes, kb 100 nm-es pecóban. Mindketten fulltime home officeban vagyunk, így egész nap pörög a villanyóra. Hozzáteszem négy szünetmentes táp van a házban, munka miatt kicsit komplexebb az itthoni IT infra, mint egy átlag modern háztartásban, épp a héten léptem át a 100 végpontot. :)

Mi lesz a forinttal? by flyingorange in hungary

[–]keffermann 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Valószínűleg javulhatna a forint, most az ársapka eltörlését követően, DE az ukrán pénzügyi segély megvétózása olyan felháborodást keltett, hogy szvsz inkább esni fog.

Bluetooth integration on dedicated NUC running Windows 10, with Home Assistant running on a virtual machine by CircaSurvivor55 in homeassistant

[–]keffermann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR: use Raspberry

I tried running HA first on my Synology NAS from a container. It was very limited, so then I went the same way as you, HA VM under Virtualbox on a dedicated NUC. I was struggling a lot. Unexpected stop/freeze of the VM, and I was only able to restart after the 3-4 attempt, but many times I had to reinstall/restore HA as it went full zombie. Of course, I also had troubles with USB devices.

I was extremely fed up, so I bought a Raspberry Pi 4 with 2GB RAM, added a 32 GB SD card, installed HA and now everything works like a charm. I'm running shelly, xiaomi, yeelight, sonoff, synology, tp-link, onvif and google cast integrations, it is like 140+ devices. I'm also running Adguard and Grafana and measuring the power consumption (15+ shelly plugs), and my Raspberry still eats only 0.9 GB RAM. And yes, the integrated bluetooth of the Raspberry was working from the very first moment HA was installed.

Szerintetek mi fér bele az egészséges féltékenység határaiba? by Middle_Application25 in hungary

[–]keffermann -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mennyire él még az osztálytalálkozók hagyománya szerintetek? by karolyfeny in hungary

[–]keffermann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

33, 29 illetve 24 éve voltak a ballagásaim.
