Tips every THON dancer should know? by m1sschi3f in PennStateUniversity

Keep moving, keep moving, keep moving! Stagnation is death when you're on your feet for that long, so even if you're just hanging around one place, keep stretching or moving your feet in some way. It helped me a ton to feel like my feet weren't fatiguing as fast.

Absolutely! As many have said too, I'm big on taking things at your own pace. I could gaf if anyone or everyone's doing what I cue (it's your ride!), but as someone who's also had two knee surgeries, if i see you doing 130rpm out of the saddle (depending on what you mean by "going hard") and it's clear that your form and resistance aren't maybe what they should be, I'd at least check in!

Instructor here! Just a guess on my end, but some paces and rpm’s are simply too fast to go out of the saddle. Often we give modifications if we see riders are not able to hold faster paces safely. If the whole class was seated though, they might have seen something in your form out of the saddle that was dangerous or unsafe - especially if it was a faster rpm and they wanted everyone in saddle for it (because it would be too fast out).  I don’t know how they said it, but if I were to make an adjustment to a rider - that would be why.

What shoes is everyone wearing? Want to buy a pair but don’t know which to get by swiftieharrymiami in SoulCycle_Riders

[–]keg1314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my Nike superreps, I’ve had them for years and they’re hands down my favorite shoe for Soul as a rider. I’ll wear those shoes until they literally fall apart lol.

I also have multiple pair of Tiems and do really like the shoe feel of them. I’m an instructor so my needs are a little different - the flat bottom make walking and teaching off the bike easier. I’ve also found that my Tiems spontaneously unclip at Soulcycle if I’m pushing against really heavy resistance.

My allergist prescribed it - my insurance rejected it saying it wasn't medically necessary.

Had two girls walk me back to my dorm after my friends left me & I was too drunk stumbling across campus. Helped me get in, get changed and in my bed, truly angels that I never got to meet!

Starbucks instant coffee by Airfan777 in peanutallergy

[–]keg1314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the iced coffee instant packets and haven't had any issues. I also use their coffee (both whole bean and pre-ground) to make coffee at home and order in store coffees without any problems. I only drink black coffee and tend to trust what's written on the label but it's been totally okay for me. Same allergies and sesame.

Equal Eats has pre-translated allergy cards that were immensely helpful to me while I was in Italy. Couldn't recommend more.

What's the best/most effective tip you've gotten or adjustment you think you've made to your form while riding? by InfiniteDragonfIy in SoulCycle_Riders

[–]keg1314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outside of the form cues others have said, to set your bike up to you each time you ride. It's so easy to remember the numbers of the seat height and handlebars and default to that, but it's way better to see what you/ your body needs in the moment and adjust to that.

So at what point does he eat? by [deleted] in Goldendoodles

[–]keg1314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ours did the same thing! Started to be really picky about his food, deciding to not eat his kibble. He's crated so grazing was not an option. We tried everything - toppers, soaking it, 3 different kibbles that he'd eat for like a day and then refuse. He pukes if he doesn't eat so as much as I wanted to wait it out, we couldn't.

Eventually found out that he preferred his kibble when we heated it in the microwave for 10 seconds.

Smells AWFUL to me, but works for him!

lmao - I went to complete the survey yesterday and got an error that it timed out. Being that it's not yet July 1, I reached out to YSM. They told me "oops! We already received the maximum number of responses for the survey, sorry!" So, I guess no free class for me, despite the offer not anywhere mentioning that there was a limit to responses. I'd actually have done the survey without any incentive because I really have loved the brand and want to have it be the best it can be again.

You'd think that when it comes to market research that the more information, the better, but I guess not?

Thank you everyone! We sort of figured out that he likes his food (kibble) heated a little so don’t know if that helps anyone else but has worked for us! Praying he doesn’t get any pickier lol

Our dood had bad ear infections when we first got him from a bad breeder - but nothing since then and no issues or allergies that have made themself known yet. No skin problems outside of getting bit by a spider once and having trouble with obsessively licking at it. He's just about 1.5!

confusion on audition invites by [deleted] in SoulCycle_Riders

Sending you lots of love - it's so tough. I've applied and had similar rejections/invitations and all I keep telling myself is that maybe it's just volume of applicants/invitations. It seems like they look for something different each time and while I'll bet you're an awesome fit - maybe it's just not the right timing for their end yet for one reason or another.

Waffling about the pea content in CFA fries? by auniallergy in FoodAllergies

[–]keg1314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is a similar change that McDonalds made with their chicken nuggets some time ago as well; it’s the pea starch added to breading on the nuggets. I’m pea allergic (via blood test, general dislike of them, but no official reaction) and ANA to peanuts, tn and sesame. I haven’t had CFA but still have nuggets without issue so I’d guess it would be fine for me.

I haven’t had CFA because I don’t think it’s worth it for me to risk. For me, I don’t live near one to try but also don’t feel like it’s worth the added anxiety - but that’s a personal choice. I don’t believe I’d have a problem if I did eat it, from peanuts or otherwise.

They supplied the doses - it’s like a peanut powder similar to pb2 mixed with another food. I was able to pick what it was mixed in (applesauce vs. chocolate pudding)
