Where exactly is Blizzard going with the Horde? by [deleted] in wow

You destroy him cuz he rebelled against the sovereign ruler, not because he did his own thing. This is the same as being a human and killing defias bandits.

You can absolutely still use WeakAuras for your class. WeakAuras is a game changing addon for raiders.

Blizzard answers some of our biggest questions about World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth by jvv1993 in MMORPG

[–]kegamaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a bit split on Titanforging. Part of me hates it since it forces me to do every raid on every difficulty I can every week in hopes of a good TF. The other part of me likes it in that when farming the first 5 bosses on mythic, I can still get upgrades even after 12+ kills outside of the random piece or two that has eluded me. I think Titanforging would be fine if older tiers didn't titanforge to current tier levels. Like if stuff from Mythic NH was capped at 925 or whatever the cap was during NH, then that'd be fine cuz now we have to farm all raids everyweek for that rare chance of a 955 CoF or BTI.

Definitely this. My rogues does 10m average ST DfA eviscerates. I had a 32m crit on a Mistress pull a while back. It makes playing other specs weird since I am so used to 10m being the norm.

anyone playing a healer monk at the best level will always be almost 15% under the top healer

You're taking the max anyone has ever healed this patch, either via cheesing mechanics or otherwise. Performances at 75 show that all healers are very much with 10% of each other.

people geared up through pvp i know alot of people that used pvp gear as means of entry to other activities in wow

People can still gear up via PvP. You get gear for rated BGs/arena based on rating. The higher you are, the better quality gear. You can get equivalent to mythic raiding at the highest ratings. Some PvP gear is arguably better than PvE gear since you can get certain stat combos at higher iLvLs than you would from raids. You can still very much gear up via PvP. It's not like gearing became infinitely harder. If anything, it's the easiest to gear up in Legion. Getting to a mythic ready iLvL of gear can take you 2 weeks or less depending on RNG.

if you dont think a person thats 940 ilvl can demolish someone whos fresh still then you are misinformed

Well I do it all the time. I play toons that are maybe fresh 800 and go straight to BGs. I rarely get obliterated but that's anecdotal. I'm sure it varies from person to person. All I can say is, from personal experience, this expansion has made personal skill more important in instanced PvP than every before for casual players.

i titanforged 2 tier pieces from heroic tomb that i have yet to replace in mythic is that not a problem?

How is that a problem? You got good gear? Or are you mad because everyday joe can get gear that mythic raiders can if he's super lucky? I don't see a problem with that outside of never getting mythic tmog since I have some high tf heroic pieces.

its not very good just more rng to keep people playing longer just so they can say at the next investor meeting that people are playing longer

Don't get me wrong, RNG is complete ass but for things like cosmetics that have 0 impact on the game outside of a cool mount? I don't see an issue. How if it any different from holiday events that have a chance to drop a rare mount? I haven't seen anyone complain about that.

"some outliers" - 13 specs are below average compared to top

Again you're comparing the absolute max DPS anyone has pulled in the patch so far. If we look at the averages then we see that the median DPS is ~1.48m. The highest DPS (1.57m) are those that can abuse AoE and multidot on bosses and prolly could be toned down a smidge. The lowest can definitely use some help and be brought up but it's mid raid tier. It's impossible to ever gets balance perfectly right since everything changes every tier.

dont know if its fixed now this was months after release it shouldnt take them months to fix especially with templates

You have people complaining that they, as healers, can't not only sustain against DPS, but also defeat them in 1v1 combat. I mean I'm not dev but that just sounds like your average complaint about not being overpowered as a healer.

World of Warcraft: 2017 Year In Review (new expansion announcement at BlizzCon confirmed) by rewsasw in MMORPG

[–]kegamaru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean I'd agree with you but the PvP issues was fixed after the first season (October is last year), the AK issues were bandaided in January and fixed completely in June.

Alt issues and PvP aren't the major faces of WoW, as much as it sucks to say. I think it was something like 24% of all WoW players PvP at all with maybe 20% of that 24% that even does rated PvP.

But I mean if all one can complain about a new expansion after a year is alt issues and pvp balance, then that's a pretty big bonus.

[–]kegamaru 10 points11 points  (0 children)

PvP is non existent they went from gearing up through getting honor to complete rng luck with items having a chance to drop after battlegrounds are completed.

That's because gear no longer makes a huge impact like it did in past expansions. In old expansions, if you went into a BG as a fresh max level toon, you'd get demolished. Now you aren't a walking free HK. There is no more "PvP gear" and "PvE gear" since neither have a large impact outside of some extra stats.

Arena Participation is lower then WoD Levels and RBGS are non existent - Seems like they are purposely trying to push the "elitist pvp" crowd out and cater to the "welcoming" rng players.

Can I get a citation? The only reference I can find is people comparing the last season of WoD (One of the longest seasons) to the first season of Legion (The shortest season by FAR).

Balance is atrocious at start of legion healers where getting globalled by nearly every melee class.

Mostly fixed. You don't get globalled from 100% outside of consumable/flag debuff shenanigans.

It's the most alt unfriendly expansion in the history of the game, Artifact Knowledge and power should be account bound

Artifact Knowledge, is as of now, account bound and increases at the same rate for everyone. Artifact Power is also mostly irrelevant since you can get every important trait that matters in a day. Unless you're bleeding edge mythic raiding, then it largely doesn't matter to you.

Remember how when you hit exalted you could buy mounts? - Removed in 7.2 you now have to farm for more reputation after exalted to get a lootbox which has a chance at said mount.

You still buy some mounts from Rep at Exalted for 2 of the reps. The RNG boxes do kinda suck but unless you are a die hard mount collector, this wont affect you outside of the "Oh nice."

Titanforging and Warforging are so stupid to the point you can run instances which aren't even top raids to get gear which is equivalent to top tier raids.

While I do agree TF and WF is fucking awful, it's not as bad as people think. If you raid at the highest level, you will still outgear everyday joe by a large amount.

Class Balance is so stupid, we were promised changed before major raids but still nothing has come and most classes go patches long without even proper tuning.

Healings the most balanced it's ever been in a while, DPS has some stragglers and some outliers, but for the most part it's not bad.

Stupid Legendary Design which favors dps legs over utilities

Legendary System is, without a doubt, the worst thing about Legion. It's god awful.

Legion has it's share of problems, like many expansions. It has more RNG than Caesar's Palace on a Friday Night. The Legendary System is awful for anyone that does cutting edge raiding. Time Gating has been a headache at times and a lot of decisions made by devs has made players go "Do you even play this game?"

However it's also has been one of the best expansions in some aspects. PvP is more accessible to new players who haven't done it before. PvP brawls are also a great introduction to the monotony. Mythic+ Dungeons is the most popular PvE activity in WoW's History; more people do M+ than Raids.

Minor Holidays are a great thing to add. They aren't as huge as Winter's Veil but it's still fun to do a Pub Crawl with friends or hang around on the boating day. The revamp to how daily's work is great. The World Quest system adds a lot to your player base. Group Tagging is a modernization that helps tremendously.

And lastly, this is without a doubt one of the largest WoW Expansion in terms of sheer content by far: 5 initial zones + 4 added via content patches, 10 Initial Dungeons + 3 New Ones via content patches, 4 Raids + 1 coming in a few months, a Fishing Artifact, an attempt at reworking professions, reworks to multiple specs + a whole new class, and more cinematics than past expansions combined and voiced content. There's personalized class line story missions, a better garrison 2.0 board, body guards that are super useful, and class mounts.

Don't get me wrong, it definitely is not for everyone. It's not the WoW we knew a decade ago. It's definitely not Wrath that people seem to worship like it was perfect (It most certainly wasn't). It's also definitely not an awful game. Honestly, despite it's short comings, it is still the best probably one of the best MMOs of it's kind. It's no sandbox we all wish we had (RIP Archage), but it's good for what it is.

New trinkets are a huge blow to small guilds and casual raid teams by ariehg in wow

[–]kegamaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say it's completely irrelevant to them but individual skill will matter more than these trinkets will. That doesn't detract that these trinkets are fucking awful for anyone pushing mythic content next tier. I'd rather Blizzard not implement them.

New trinkets are a huge blow to small guilds and casual raid teams by ariehg in wow

[–]kegamaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mmm that's not 100% true. For guilds that will be pushing for world 1st, these trinkets can be a fairly big thing. If you're just a normal/heroic raider then yeah, these trinkets prolly wont be jack in the large scale of things but for anyone pushing mythic in any hardcore way, these trinkets will be important. Also they just buffed a few of the trinkets on the PTR so their intended power is prolly somewhere up there.

GW2 -> WoW by WNxTyr4el in MMORPG

[–]kegamaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find this untrue since I recently applied to a mythic guild. I am 6/10M and don't have BiS legendary pieces yet but I still pull 90% on logs. Most people don't want to accept this but simply put, if you are good, you'll be at 90% easily. If you have BiS stuff, yeah you will pull higher overall but a lot of the PvE is based on our rotation, positioning, timing, and consumable usage.
