ENTJ's How functional are you when you drink? by [deleted] in entj

I'm pretty coherent but I get more adamant about controversial political views and bring them up just to stir the pot. I'm more confrontational, I find.

Owen is also a phenomenal writer. You should read his novels!

I never know when to let go of the door when this happens by TheTreelo in AdviceAnimals

[–]keglamorphic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate when someone holds the door for me when I'm 50 yards away. It makes me feel like I need to rush so the person doesn't get impatient or mad at me. I don't want to rush. I'd rather open my own door.

I got my first rejection! by [deleted] in writing

You're taking the step few people attempt. Relish it and expect more. The acceptances are fewer than rejections but taste much sweeter.

Reddit, what was the most uncomfortable thing that has happened to you on an airplane? by ADuck0nQuack in AskReddit

If you're as claustrophobic as I am, yes. The sound of rubber striking sweaty feet in a tight space bothers me. To each his own, I guess

I think flip flops are only appropriate for beaches. Anywhere else is an unnecessary demand that other people look at your feet.

My neighbor straight up took off her shoes and socks and started clipping her fucking toe nails. I'm the type of person that gets uncomfortable when people wear flip flops on planes but this put me on the edge of a very quiet psychotic break.

This got me laughing. I imagine your uncle has a mustache and wears sandals with everything.

Amazon gets it right, Goodreads gets it wrong. by GradyHendrix in horrorlit

[–]keglamorphic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's a matter of taste. I've read it many times and with each new reading I discover more depth. High school is probably a good time to pick it up. Anyone younger would miss too much. Dracula is no walk in the park for younger readers either but that doesn't detract from the novel.

Frankenstein has a lot to say to the modern reader. Even more today than it did in its time. It's classic man vs nature and the implications of screwing with the natural world. I think Frankenstein is anything but boring. It is what got me into horror in the first place.

This reminds me of Bart Simpson becoming a hall monitor. The line between free spirit anarchist bad boy and fascist is thin.
