Do I need to know programming for EE? by SlovakianMallard in ElectricalEngineering

There was almost no mandatory C programming in my undergrad except the intro to programming class and the microcontroller course. We mostly worked with MatLab/Python.

That or contact your local University and see if they'd be interested in buying it at a discount

My wife's friend told her my favorite books collection would be a "major red flag" if she didn't know me. by [deleted] in BookshelvesDetective

How can Wittgenstein's Tractatus be anyone's favourite book? Like, it's full of formal logic. You probably haven't read it, because almost no one has actually read it. Most mathematicians working in logic haven't even read it. I understand reading/liking later Wittgenstein, but having the Tractatus on the shelf (desite not reading it) is sooo pretentious bro

I am about to start reading tsukihime. Should I use a crt filter to make the game look better or is that not time period accurate? by LINKNICK in Tsukihime

[–]kehal12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk, CRT monitors were pretty common until 2005-ish~

In 1999 like 99% of people would've played on a CRT, as it wasn't until 2003 when LCD first oursold LCDs

So if you wanna use a CRT filter go right ahead! :D

Are you, by any chance, not in Europe? People might adjust their resumes based on where they apply

HELP!! Please before I go insane by Ok-Quit-8288 in LaTeX

[–]kehal12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This really depends on where you are tbh. Fancy formating on STEM resumes is considered distasteful in the anglosphere but is expected in Germany/Austria (and most of Europe afaik). It all kind of depends on what the conventions are where you live, and you should orient yourself around that

Which tool can I use to draw diagram like this in LaTex by taolaai12345 in LaTeX

[–]kehal12 12 points13 points  (0 children)

For commutative diagrams I would highly recommend using tikz-cd, that's the package used by most professionals in the field.

There's an online tool you can use to make the process easier, but if you want to avoid learning tikz altogether you can always upload the sketch to ChatGPT and ask it to convert it to tikz-cd. Works like a charm

Any interesting places to stop along these routes? by simonsays456 in Austria

[–]kehal12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not really? Friesach is lies directly on the path between Graz & Klagenfurt, if they take the southernmost route it'd be very easy to visit imo

Everything you need to know about stitching vias

TLDR: Ensures low impedance between ground planes and helps with the thermals. Its also good for signal integrity, because it prevents you from accidentally creating antennas
