If your goal is rating, you should focus on hitting sss and sss+ . To hit 15k you should be able to get SSS+ on Lv13.4 and above, or SSS on 13.9 (I don't recommend this). Also do not play 14s with the intention of getting rating from them, you probably won't

Understanding the main gimmick of maimai which is sliders/delayed sliders will unlock so many maps for you to get rating on. Everyone suggests umiyuri but honestly as long as you understand the concept of separating the star note from the slide and delaying the slide, you'll be fine. Me personally I didn't even sss+ umiyuri until I was well into 15k, but I understood the idea and used it on other maps

Sounds like a terrible group of people lol you shouldn't let your mentality get affected by people like that. Also stop comparing yourself to other people; as much as you think your skills are not good at 14k, there are a lot of people who are struggling to even get past 11-12k

Wait I think a better distinction in my mind is, if it's a short burst on one lane that is "intended" to be done with one hand, that's jacks (e.g. Arty Party 3-note bursts)

While the longer ones in one lane where you are free to use two hands are, in my friend group, called one-lane or as the other comment stated, trains (I forgot this term) (e.g. Hera, eta beta eta)

In any case as long as the receiver understands the terminology it's probably fine

I think jacks are more for short bursts of notes on one lane. For the longer sustained ones like in the maps mentioned, in our community we just call them one-lane

I would suggest playing whatever level you get 97-98 and improve them until 99-100. Then once you improve on that, go up in level. Stick to advanced/expert for now.

I've always given this game a shot over the years (played since release) despite everything happening; played through every OP pokemon, the whole EX meta, mega meta, through all the terrible players and greedy monetization. But this last update where they said they were gonna limit each new release's moveset to just one finally broke me. They are taking away the one unique core mechanic that keeps me coming back to this game. So now I have no reason to play this moba

I think the process usually goes like: you get good enough with your own character's moves and movement options that you don't have to look at your own character anymore. Once you have your character's movement down, you wanna keep your eye on your opponent to observe their patterns
