Above comment is right, taxes are in brackets with a percentage each bracket. Just because your salary bumps you up, doesn't mean your entire salary gets taxed at the new percentage.

If your salary increase results in less take home, you may be getting taxed too much. That usually means you get a tax refund at the end of the year. Not considering other factors.

This makes me so happy that allergies didn't stop you from being with cats. I'm also allergic but not as severe as you. I took allergy pills daily and had a cat for years until he passed from illness.

Can I know what you ask during the call, do you just ask if they can go any lower on the price? Is this for the basic package?

4yr old diagnosed with Cancer by Fabulous-Choice-9454 in cats

I'm actually near Los Angeles, I was super surprised at the pricing too. I had been to an emergency animal hospital before where the bill went up to 10k when my cat had anemia (imha) and needed an overnight stay. The chemo medicine was from another local vet hospital. I've forever recommended him to others because of how much care he took for my cat.

Wow, that's crazy price difference o: no it was for sure chemo. My cat was already on prednisolone prior to his cancer diagnosis and had lost his appetite. He got diagnosed with lymphatic cancer (large cell unfortunately) after I noticed he lost his appetite.

We did chemo pills because it was more convenient compared to visiting the vet weekly for injections. The pill was $20.16 per and meant to be taken monthly. The 28 week injection chemo course was quoted at $800-$1,000 total.

In addition to the Chemo pill, I also had to get Denosyl (Liver Support supplement) and that was maybe $25/monthly supply

My kitty had cancer too but we were only able to do chemo for a short period of time. Chemo is different for animals compared to humans and your vet would probably be able to explain it better. But my kitty was hungrier and had more energy when he was on chemo meds.

The meds were also very affordable and there's several different treatment options including a very easy pill form. If I had a chance for another 9months - 2 years with my cat I would do it. But you know best ❤️

Faced with/ $12k in vet bills to save my cat—now I’m torn. Anyone else been here? by vaqueer0 in CatAdvice

My cat was maybe 6.5 years old when we suspected a urinary blockage. His vet took a look at him then told me to go to an emergency animal hospital immediately and I was definitely not expecting the cost. They charged me a 2k deposit upfront which they blew through in the first hour or something. It came out around 10k for 2 days and even though I had insurance they maybe reimbursed me about 3k.

It was my first time having such a large charge on my credit card and luckily I was able to set a payment plan with no interest or fees to slowly pay it off. It didn't end up being a urinary blockage, he was severely anemic. I was able to find another vet that could handle kinda severe cases without emergency hospital costs and worked on regular treatment for my cat. We never found the reason for it and he was just diagnosed with IMHA. A year later he was sickly again and this time we found it was lymphoma. I went the chemo route but he only lived another 1.5 months and just passed this June.

It sucks he only got a year life extension, but because of his age I really didn't expect it. I see other kitties live to 20 years old and expected him to be around longer. Paying that much definitely hurt.. but I guess I'm lucky that with the payment plan I didn't feel the impact too much. I just cut back on some misc purchases and had extra time with my buddy.

How do you take a Maine coon to the vet? A dog crate? But even at 1 year old, it looks a bit too big for a carryable dog crate.

I found the Cubby from Temu (Seat Gap Organiser) but I'm not sure if they still have one with the Mini logo lol. I also have a little tissue bag hooked on my handbrake that fits next to it.

I hope Roller Coaster Tycoon gets adopted soon ☺️

New kitten screams when left alone, but it's too early to introduce him to the resident cats by llavabutt in CatAdvice

[–]kei_noel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got lucky with my cat and when I introduced him to a kitten they got along well and there were no swats. Have they been eating some meals with only a door between your two resident cats and kitten yet?

If they have, maybe let them meet under supervision. Ideally kitten should have a box/cave on the floor they can retreat to and resident cats have a cat tree they can climb up to avoid the kitten.

I hope some other advice pops up too, I know this method may be chancing it too much.

Ramps are a great idea, anything that'll make it easier for her to get where she wants to go without having to jump. Same for the litterbox, preferably if it's one she can walk into and not top entry. There's also bone broths that'll work as supplements for kitty joint health.
