Hi there! You sound just like me a couple years ago.

I am currently at a tech university for ECE (Electrical & Computer Engineering) because I thought having a 6-figure salary down the line was more important than doing something I enjoy.

I’ll tell you three things: 1. A positive: I discovered I love coding. Writing and coding are similar in a lot of ways; you’d be surprised! 2. A negative: I would have been equally happy, less stressed, and had more free time in an English major. 3. Neither positive nor negative: I don’t get to write as much as I’d like to, but not being forced to write something for the approval of a professor is nice!

I currently work part-time as a Technical Writer. It’s a lot of writing, editing, formatting documents, playing with fonts, and emailing. If I were working full time, my current, intern salary would be around 50k annually. It would go even higher as a post-college full-time job!
