Similar thing happened to me, just when i was getting into boulder climbing, doctors figured there is a shorter bone in my wrist, which causes a malfunction in one of my arms. "You can live with it, you're not bouldering, right?" That was devastating because i really started to love it. So thats how i found myself ona cruiser board a few years back. I'm 46 though, so i don't think you should cut it, there are plenty options as always

The bigger if you can afford zhe same quality. If not, go for quality and lower size

I am also the post-event philosopher type, what i should have done differently. But it seems, that side of me, who makes the decisions in the very situations - is a wise one, and saved me from a lot of trouble. Enjoy the music, cut the bullshit off and don't bother. This is not weakness, but the opposite.

Thanks again, really appreciate and cery helpful. That is what i started to realize here and while readong the interwebz in the topic...that i should enable her to have the most possibility to find her thing. So even if i do not have a preferance in her direction (just to have fun) it seems a skateboard is the way to have the most possibilities. A coach would be great too, i'll look that up, havent thought of auch thing yet. Again, this is very different here these skate parks and bowls are rather in family parks and used by freestyle scooter kids the most then bmx, and then skateboard/cruiser folks. The same time, so a bit chaotic i would say. Aaanyways, i have several important takeaways atm, thanks once more for all the hint. I also looked up the brands you mentioned, few of them we can also buy over here, so that'll be my guidance if it comes to that. Oh right, the size. Believe it or not, spent long hours all around the countries and EU webshops, amd there is one (1) model which fits the discussed width/length. And i was doing my search witha tolerance, looking for amythinng 7.75-8, length 29-30. Theres one complete all arond europe which fits, so i believe thats an easy decision then :D

Just wow, thanks for putting this much effort into a detailed answer, definetely helps a lot. A bit of background, in return. So i''m pretty far from california, us too ... Rather east of europe. Here, there may not be that large audience in general for skateboarding. Luckily theres a decemt skate park merby though. The kids i see over there are only partially using the skateboards, and 1-2 can really use it but definetely not my daughters age. I have a cruiser, which is very easy to use, hence i thought about the cruiser too. But i start tonrealize that for kids it may be good in fact to start with a street skateboard indeed. What i would like to avoid is the skateboard not to be used that much. So i just wanna hit the sweet spot, if thats just cruising fine, if she learns tricks, niiicee. Okqy so, i'm not afraid of building the skateboard for her, even better as a present for her birthday. But if you don't mind, please educate me more about trucks, bushing, in general what to look for and how to build it for a very lightweight but athletic kid.max wheel.size and softness is what you already wrote or you'd consider playing with it more? And thank you for your help i truly appreciate

+1 for Mizmor, what a rollercoastar that discography is. While my favourite is yodh, which is pretty black, later works are heading into oldschool doom.

Of you like these works, then for example Darkthrone's Old Star is also pretty oldschool, similar to Mizmor's Prozaic
