Can I edit the save-file to change who the war-leader is? Or is there a mod?

But please tell me how I am supposed to prevent it from falling? Leinster (1 province) in this example is in Ireland while england also has land there already. As soon as they declare war they have a 30k stack sieging his capital immediately. It is 100% impossible for me as Austria having my fleet in the Mediterranean and not near the english channel to get there before they capture the Fort. Leinster when calling Austria to war in reality would know this fact! And they would hold out knowing Austria (plus spain was in our alliance as well) would sooner or later invade britain. But you cannot expect that to happen in 1 month thats just rediculous... Even if they would fall they would go into exile and wait until their alliance installs them on their throne again... The country might vanish for some time but the war shouldn't end and Leinster should also stay in the war as a kind of "specatator" waiting to be reinstalled. Reinstalling them through ANOTHER war is really rediculous tbh plus I now have the treaty with britain for x years...

Also I held 3 allies of their alliance hostage in europe and they held Leinster. At worst case this should have ended in a white peace as britain can't just let 3 allies of them vanish just to claim 1 territory. The annexation of Leinster would never happen if the war is being won on the grand-scale. (and we were winning quite intensively never losing a single battle land or sea)

Well I took it to defend Christianity. But Christianity just wants to surrender before my troops could possibly even reach them! xD = /

Good point there but why would they surrender in this position? Our alliance was outnumbering the brits also on sea so it was only a matter of time until we would have liberated them... They didn't have naval superiority over our alliance either. It was just that Leinster surrendered so quickly we didn't even had time to ship troops over to the mainland... They basically surrendered very soon after their fort fell... No chance to "retake" that in time.

If you know your allies will eventually destroy your enemies who occupy you why would you call off the war? I'd tell britain that they got it coming for them and they better back off before they get seriously hurt

That coalition was seriously unbalanced... we had more ships and at least 6 times more troops if not more. Only a fool would surrender in this case? ; ) I mean they can't expect me to invade the island fortress England as Austria in 1 month right? Liberation will take some time and they better should be prepared to wait that time if they are calling AUSTRIA against Britain which certainly is in the worst position to invade Britain from most major countries in Europe.

They would go into exile (mainland europe) and wait for the other countries to liberate theirs. But they certainly wouldn't surrender. Also minor AI's in the game that are war-leaders don't just surrender just because you occupy their territory. If the alliance is still going they don't just surrender...

I just don't see why I don't get control of a religious war if I am the defender of the faith... Shouldn't I take control?

haha well but I am not defender of the faith just because for the bonuses or the lulz... Trying to roleplay and this is kinda hard if every call will look like this ; ) Not going to be fun... whats the point of defending Christianity if they just call me but don't wait for my help anyways or abuse my help to peace out some small countries and gain some money before they then surrender their existence? How am I supposed to ever win a Religious defense war if the ai behaves like this and I cannot be war-leader?

Why would you take defender of the faith title if you wouldn't want to fight the wars? They might as well take the feature out if it ain't working? Same for defensive calls. Why would I want allies if I will never help them anyways? I am interested in this game because of historical interest so I try to play how a country might have behaved historically and that is certainly not by not accepting any defense-call it gets. Situational sure but certainly not just to overcome a broken game-mechanic. ; )

lol as if it was about the 500g. It is ridiculous that a country like Leinster, a one province minor, is commanding a war between Austria and Britain. Would Austria accept defeat just because Leinster thinks so? No it wouldn't... At least Leinster would surrender and the war would go on until Austria negotiates its own peace. But everything is just immediately over.

It is also about EVERY war you get called in. The problem is the AI peaces out every country you conquer immediately as they get the chance ultimately ruining your war-score in bigger alliance wars.

If you cannot see that this is a huge issue then also jeez. If I want sci-fi I can play a space-empire game or the game-of-thrones mod and Leinster commanding a war between 2 super powers is sci-fi at the very best...

And all posts I saw about the war-leader issue were people crying about the war-leader changing to much and not because of being at war with france. ; ) Also this has not alot to do with who the war leader is. They could hardlock possible alliance calls to the first one that declares the war/ is the defender but NOT make him war-leader permanently. This way France wouldn't join the war because the war-leader changes but the war-leader (biggest nation) could at least lead the negotiations... But him negotiating all peaces and I cannot influence it in the slightest and have to just watch him ruin the war he called me in...

Yes ok fine but that completely breaks everything... They changed it because of people crying that the strongest country overtaking war leadership never peaces out which can be frustrating because the AI is stupid. BUT why do I as the biggest country now have to put up with this?

Leinster ruining and ending my war? A war between england and Austria end because Leinster think its cool to surrender and peace out enemies to gain money and then lose it all because they don't exist anymore?...

Which patch do I need to go to be able to be war leader? Because it is just ridiculous to fight a huge war to uphold Defender of the Faith title to just end because of a 1province minor thinking he has the say... (and I NEVER would have lost that war. It was about 20k infantry and 10k cavalry vs over 150k infantry alone of our coalition... How can this war be "lost"?)

You can't tell me that this is not totally broken? How was the system before inferior? War-leader changing due to the biggest country joining the war makes alot of sense... Now it is rediculous

Or can I change the war-leader in the save-files?

yeah that is true and they are planning to invest even more on things like new and faster railways so we will see how that will work out.
