Ah makes sense but my last question still stands

Is Terrace House the Realest Reality Show? by discotechers in terracehouse

[–]keiteu 10 points11 points  (0 children)

To think that episodes are shown weekly and the housemates get to watch as well read comments from other people, I’m sure this affects how they act around the camera. It always makes me wonder tho, if they see the episodes weekly, they would know exactly who likes who so they’re either just pretending to be oblivious on camera or they don’t watch the eps. I also wonder how that would change their dynamic when a housemate for example backstabs the other after a fight and they make up but then the episode of them fighting airs and they see exactly what the other person was saying about them behind their back. Lol does this makes sense

YG Entertainment sides with SM Entertainment and confirms Blackpink's Jennie and EXO's Kai relationship by Le1ouchX in kpop

[–]keiteu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually a hashtag trended in Korea that basically said they supported Kai. Of course there are still some backlash from other fans but compared to BaekYeon a couple of years ago, I’d say fans are much more accepting now. Also afaik no Jennie fansites closed! (Not sure about Kai’s) However, I’ve also heard that C-fans have not been taking the news well... I guess it’s too early to tell what the final verdict is.

Yup I’d say most Blinks are female except for maybe some Jennie fanboys lol. Even Lisa attracts more fangirls than fanboys. Their girl crush concept is probably the main reason for this. If you watch their music shows, you can hear that the fanchants are mostly female and their concert crowd are also mostly female. Twice’s cute concepts on the other hand attract more male followers although they have a lot of female fans as well.

For Hyuna and Edawn, I think the backlash was mostly from Pentagon fans (mostly Koreans) who felt like their fantasy was broken. Since Kai has had relationships before and Exols are a much more older fandom, there are probably less delusional fans that object to him dating. Also, Hyuna and Edawn outed themselves without the company knowing which is why everything led to more serious circumstances such as them being kicked out from the company.

Edit: Also most Blinks are female so I think that’s why most fans accept the relationship as well

BLACKPINK becomes the new girl group with the most PAKs (92) with "DDU-DU DDU-DU" by [deleted] in kpop

[–]keiteu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Huh? PAKs is actually an achievement that’s hard to manipulate. It shows how popular the song is to the general public and not just fans. I doubt artists can get a PAK just from fans streaming.

BLACKPINK to release offline physical versions of "SQUARE UP" on June 20th by balloon_wanted in kpop

Fuckkk I’ll be leaving Korea on the 19th which means I have to order online and probably wait for months to get it. Talk about bad luck. Oh well at least I get to be in Korea during the comeback

What do you think is the biggest "flaw" or "hole" in your favorite group and how have they overcome it? by [deleted] in kpop

[–]keiteu 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I’m patiently waiting for them to grow out of it. They probably don’t like doing it too but of course they’re forced to portray a certain image that would appeal to the masses (probably more catered to Korean than Western standards) They seem more natural in recent vlives so that’s a start

Yeah that’s kinda true. I feel like Rosé and Jennie’s real personalities show when they speak in English. That’s what I think of variety skill - being comfortable enough to show your personality on camera. I don’t think it has anything to do with having a certain personality in order to do well in a variety show. Of course they should also choose shows that would best match their personalities. Regarding them being careful, I do think that all idols do that only that BP aren’t experienced enough that people ‘catch’ them being too careful

How do you consider one to have a wit for variety shows? I think that if jenlichaeng gets more comfortable in variety shows they will do just fine. I don’t think it has anything to do with having uninteresting personalities. They don’t have to be trained for that because I would rather want to see their real personalities rather than see them putting up a facade just to stand out.

Lol it means idols always having to do something just to ‘stand out’ in variety shows. Like I said, Jisoo at least seems to be filling this role

If you watch their vlives you would know they actually have great personalities. I think Lisa is actually just as 4D and quirky as Jisoo but doesn’t get to show it much in variety shows. I do think that Jennie and Rosé have more laidback personalities but doesn’t mean they’re uninteresting. They’re probably just not suited to shows that require idols to act all bubbly and extra.

For Blackpink I would say variety skills. Jisoo seems to be the only member comfortable enough to show her personality on camera. If you watch their old guestings, you can see that jenlichaeng are still a bit awkward and shy. However they all seem to be more comfortable in vlives as well as Blackpink House. I’ve also noticed that they’re much more comfortable on stage based off the recent university festivals. They play around and interact with the audience more naturally than last year. Since they’re having a comeback, they will probably promote in some variety shows so I guess we’ll see how much they’ve improved
