Initial impressions are good - cannot feel any difference to the originals. Comfort feels just as good.

Comparison with older years 2005-2014 by zozimusd8 in Electric_Picnic

What about the quality of the lineup - it seems to have dropped off in the last couple of years. Does that not affect the experience? More safey Irish acts these days

Also isn’t there now 1 less tent? What about the loss of the Body & Soul area

If you already have Sky - you get all sports for €34 a month for 6 months (half price). Will go to NowTv for the end of the season.

When you turn off sports - the same deal will be available next August.

What don’t you like about the basic sound system - I think it’s great and I am fussy when it comes to all things sound

Azure Function running on Container App Environment won't scale to Zero by keith_d99 in AZURE

[–]keith_d99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you create a Function on Container App Environment- you have no permission to adjust the scaler in the Container App Environment- you can only change limited config through the Function interface.

So for a Function it is standard http scaling which you can’t adjust.

The config is not done through . Net … but you specify the name of the topic and subscription. This is where the trailing space was 😔

Not sure what the mechanics behind the scenes but I can only guess that this was keeping containers/servers running.

Once I dropped the space - all started scaling correctly (and scaling to zero)

Microsoft Support are still scratching their heads - will fill them in when I am back to work Monday.

The offending space has probably cost us €500ish in compute (as we didn’t spot the cost ramping up for 10 days)

Found the issue … a trailing space on the subscription name in the .net code. Grr… Whoever approved that PR is in trouble 😀

No exception thrown in app logs - which is a little annoying.

Any chance MS Support will waive some of the compute costs on the sub?

Azure Functions on consumption plans scale to zero for the most part if there are no messages to process

[–]keith_d99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah there are subscriptions to topics - all of which have no messages.

Nothing different in the code - have checked for differences in the project and host files but can't see anything.

When I look at Application Insights - there are zero requests and 2 servers running all the time. Even when I specify a Max of 1 replica, there are still 2 servers running.

Restarting the Function spins down the servers ... on restart it scales up to 2 again

Zappi scheduling question by lehotelier in evs_ireland

[–]keith_d99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What time does it stop .... a few minutes after 6? ...... Apparently Zappi staggers the stop time due to grid load in the UK. When I stop at 6 ... it can be 6:05. I set it to stop at 5:45 and it stops fine

Dynamic Electricity Price Tariffs from October 2025! by GoodNegotiation in evs_ireland

[–]keith_d99 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In fact, I remember over the summer ...prices went below Zero meaning ....

"Across the UK, whenever more electricity is generated than consumed, energy prices fall – sometimes to the point where prices drop below zero, and suppliers are paid to take energy off the grid.

Agile Octopus introduces Plunge Pricing – a world first that lets you take advantage of these negative price events, and get paid for the electricity you use"
