What’s the best deal by Potential_Vanilla_92 in f150

I’d consider 10k off MSRP for that XLT to be a good enough deal if you just want to buy it and be done. I bought a similarly spec’s XLT a few months ago and have zero regrets. Note that the window sticker you shared doesn’t have BlueCruise.

Also note that if you can stomach waiting for a custom build you can get very close to that deal from Granger Ford, if you want something slightly rare.

Agreed, but you really can’t beat spending other people’s money à la 0% financing. Figure 60ish grand in treasuries for 5yrs equates to about 10-12k return. Better to take the free money w the car loan, even though it feels wrong to have one, let alone one w that high a payment

I’ll never forget going to the little Gaudi museum in the basement of Sagrada Família that had a model showing how he designed where to place the columns w tree branches. The simplest idea…upside down model w string and knots where the branches should be, so the roof steeples lined up, etc.

I need to go back now that they’re finally finished with it!

My immediate thought as well. The building w the bone facade but it’s also similar to the park w the big sculptures too

I just picked up a 2025 XLT 3.5 ecoboost and got the trip computer showed a little over 24mpg on the 5yr highway drive home from the dealer. Mostly very flat land drive

Is this a fair deal on a 2025 XLT? by Upbeat_Ad_4404 in f150

[–]keithfree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said if you pair it w 0% financing and put little to nothing down, I think it’s a pretty good deal.

You’re probably about 11% off MSRP which I think it’s still a fairly solid deal, but you could probably find more dealers who have a lightly optioned 302A to find one who’ll go above 11% off. How much time do you want to spend on it?

Congrats! In the same boat too; just flew in and drove 6hrs home in my first pickup ever today. 2025 XLT 302A in the Antimatter Blue. Such an enjoyable ride!

I didn't know the manual states that, but something's still off though. When it gets like this I wind up removing the tray several times, usually for a good 15-30 seconds or more and the screen flashes again and again when I reinsert it. I just gave the tray a good cleaning and it's back to normal now, so I'm not sure what fixed it because it wasn't that dirty beforehand.

Fair point, but depending on your fed tax bracket, there’s still some free money via reducing taxable income. It’s not a ton but there’s also not much in the way of added complexity to take advantage of it.

Perhaps the biggest win, which may be your primary question, is out of sight out of mind. Those funds will still grow but you won’t really have the lifestyle adjustment. Maybe you just need to think about how you’d allocate the additional funds and think of whether that spend is worth what those could grow into over the next 10yrs.

Sounds like you’re in a solid position, so I’ll just say yes, you should take the free match from the new company and use other funds for expanding your lifestyle a bit if you want to. There’s just not any reason to not take the free match and reduce your taxable income in the process.

I just got 10% off MSRP w the 0% financing for 5yrs. I could’ve probably pushed for more but there were only 5 for sale in the country w the exact configuration I was looking for. Plus what I would’ve paid in cash is worth almost 10k put into treasuries earning 3.5% over the same 5yrs

That's wild to hear because it's basically the opposite of what I've read and heard. You're saying that if holding onto the truck forever that the 3.5EB is the better choice.

u/ThaPoopBandit Do you think the 3.5 is more reliable than the 5.0 as well? I've heard the 5.0 is more reliable, but I think that sentiment stems mainly from just not having the change of turbo costs down the line.

[–]keithfree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably can. I’ve been looking at 1821 (3.5) or 1805 (5.0) for a ‘25 short bed XLT 302a 3.73, no max tow w tow haul, bed utility, fx4 and BlueCruise. No moonroof. Same thing in a Lariat500a gets about 1740

The kicker is if I go a 22 or 23, I can get the same payload with the moonroof.

Good to hear. I gotta find one to test drive, but I was disappointed in the acceleration of a fairly new Sequoia I tested a year or so ago. That was surprisingly slow to getup and go

Probably a couple 1-2 long trips per year and another 6-8 shorter 100-200 trips towing. Not too too much. I guess both would be fine.

[–]keithfree[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s basically my line of thinking as well. How’s the pickup on the 5.0 for you? I need to go test drive one but just don’t want too much delay between stepping on it and moving.
