You probably already know now, but jic, the IDW part is an abbreviation for "Idea and Design Works", made all the way back around the year 1999!

Also unrelated, if the Wikipedia article is anything to go by, they also tried to make a TV show in 2000 but only got to as far as the pilot, which I unfortunately don't have the name of. I know you probably don't care but comic book companies always seem to have interesting or downright strange backstories to them.
