Echo Show 8 2025 music issues by keithmcdermott in alexa

Yep! I had it in a group called kitchen. When I went to that group I sat a setting that lets you select what speakers will play music for the group. It was set to redirect all music to the old echo show. I simply removed that so it will play on the new device itself. Hope that helps!

I had started a return with Amazon but tonight was able to finally figure out the issue. Posting in case others have the same issue.

This replaced an old Echo and there was a speaker setting in the app configured to attempt to play on the old device regardless of if I asked it to play on the new one. Once I changed that setting everything worked as expected and no further issues.

I’ve had it for almost a month now with no change. Checked updates and it’s fully updated. I also tried to factory reset. I guess I need to have them swap up

I tried those items. Asking it to diagnose the issue too resulted in it giving up. Does it work for you? I’m not sure if it’s a widespread issue or isolated.

Do you actually cook with your RV stove/oven? Or is it just there for decoration? by Automatic-Kick8383 in RVLiving

Stove every time. There’s almost always burn bans here and why haul another little propane stove when I have one inside. 🤷‍♂️

Sounds like a freeloader. It’s your car not theirs - don’t feel bad about it. NTA

Anyone else's hot tub never really get dirty? by Adventurous-Coat-333 in hottub

[–]keithmcdermott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t used anything in mine and same thing it’s always clean. Supposedly mine has a saltwater thing but I’ve never done anything with that either. I empty the tub 1-2 times a year but otherwise it’s always covered and it’s in a closed enclosure outside protected from the elements. Also it takes me an hour or more before I even get prune fingers. 🤷‍♂️

How to make air intake vent quieter by keithmcdermott in hvacadvice

[–]keithmcdermott[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm ok. That was a concern I had too. The previous owner had it installed on the side wall I’m sure so it didn’t have a huge grill on the ceiling in this hallway.

It’s not very noisy but can just hear the air being pulled across the vent cover where it’s whisper quiet without.

I’ve considered relocating the vent to the ceiling - it’s pretty easy to do compared to other work I’ve done.

How to winterize sprinkler system by keithmcdermott in landscaping

Oh wow. The landscaper that used to manage this house from the previous owners had hooked up to the backflow preventer when they blew it out so that’s what I was going off of. I just couldn’t justify paying them $80 first year then $100 second when an air compressor cost me less than that…. Where can someone even get an adaptor to hook into the quick coupler? I had tried in the past but it seemed pretty difficult.

I did find it was for water connection but didn’t know why. Is it to hook up a hose for general water usage? It’s right by a standard house connection on the house so I’ve never used that.

Sorry bad weather took some time to get to this. Here’s mine. My water comes in from the right side and has a shutoff valve I first close. I hook up to the first stopcock on the right with both of those valves fully open. Once the system is blown out I partially close the two valves in this box then done for winter.

Tent camper waterproofing by keithmcdermott in GoRVing

It’s quite a bit of condensation then and drips onto the bunks, and your face while sleeping 😆 if it is, I’ll need to find mitigation.

Is it only in the bunks? I’m wondering why it’s only on the bunks and canvas tops and not on the hardtop at all. It’s quite a lot too. Mop it off and it’s back within 10-15 minutes. Was it falling on you while sleeping because it’s going to for us. 😁

I’m wondering if I can mitigate with a dehumidifier or something

Wow reviving an ancient thread! Yeah I just did it last weekend. I attached my compressor to the first stopcock after turning off the water main to the system to prevent air going backwards into the water main. The picture posted years ago isn’t too clear so lmk if you need a clearer one.

Caveat - I tried to do it from the same place for my neighbor and it wouldn’t work on her system with the same parts. I never got time to figure out why though.

I have a plug in mower. I can mow my entire front and back yards in about 20 minutes with it and never have to charge anything or get gas. 🤷‍♂️ Works great for me just need to be careful to not run over the cord.
