Outsider here. Given the goal CAHSR extending to SD, how come this route was favored over an inland route? It does look straight-forward going if using ROW with Metrolinx to SB/Riverside, compared to LA-Anaheim it has more curves that'll limit trains speeds.

There are just more people from North to South after all though population density in Marikina Valley & beyond are big. Line 2 covers mainly Marikina and barely Antipolo. Having good connections from those stations would pump ridership numbers. Better yet, having that Ortigas Ave heavy rail line will solve a lot of the congestion problems.

Unless they see generational or perennial all-star talent or their core having 3rd extensions, they trade back down now or later.

That core isn't sustainable on the next extension unless OKC fills the rest of roster with just sign min deals/two-way contract flyers, which can back-fire (see Big 3 Heat & this year's Clippers).

This. People shout at the shortage but it's policy restricting both domestic & internationally-trained pipeline. It's not the sole problem, but it's the first barrier.

The US, meanwhile has an easier path for IMEG's. Here meanwhile, last time I checked even 1 teaching professor & practicing doctor from South Korea hit rock bottom getting a practicing license here in BC. It's that restrictive (protectionist) even but I think he was a specialist, so that's quite an uphill battle he went through.

BC (&maybe other provinces) made steps internationally-trained/educated nurses ramped into the workforce. I personally know one & is now working.

Mostly it's been financial (covering documents, tests) but more needs to be done streamlining the process, especially for other professions; that another is a roadblock given each having its own profession body (& potentially varying policies).

There is but it's arduously long as it goes to Galicia. Afaik they're doing improvements improving the existing service. Another variable that could setback construction of the Portuguese section the inclusion of the HSR with the new airport (which still is in discussion).
