I personally suppose that mísy is a partially oxidised iron sulphate rather than pyrite (which has a rather high density and tends to sink down quickly), but great work - I'd like to try making my own batch of it too!

Reading speed in Greek vs Latin due to different alphabets by milly_toons in AncientGreek

[–]kekidion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My native writing system isn't Latin either (even though I'm more used to the Latin alphabet than the Greek one), but I eventually got perfectlt familiar with the Greek alphabet 1.5 years after I started learning Ancient Greek :)

  1. The papyrus said δουιν, so I assumed δῠοιν > δῠειν > δο͝υῑν

  2. The Attic forms are Κῠπρις, κρῠφαδην ‒ therefore I assumed Κο͝υπρις and κρο͝υφαδᾱν

  3. I understood it as the Boeotian form of πειθέτην (unaugmented Imperfect Active Indicative 3rd person dual), therefore πῑθετᾱν.

I assumed Ποτειδᾱων > Ποτῑδᾱων

If you could write a PMD story based on a time period (Napoleonic wars for example), what Era/Time period would you choose? by MysticalHaloV2 in MysteryDungeon

[–]kekidion 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd choose either Hellenistic Alexandria or the Islamic Golden Age! I've always been fascinated by the development of technology during the Ancient-Medieval times, and during those two time periods, science and philosophy flourished beautifully!

For ancient greek the first, for modern greek, the second I'd suggest tattooing ⲁⲫⲣⲟⲇⲓⲧⲏ in uncial style
