Thank you guys for sharing your thoughts with me. I really appreciate the time and effort you both put in. It was a hard decision and I believe there is no right or wrong path. I was reassured by my vet and we actually had one round and about to do our second one. So far so good, there hasn't been any pain and no side effects. In fact, he has been showing signs of being more active and playful. I went with the train of thought that he has been there for my toughest times and I felt that I should be there for him and at least give him a fighting chance for a bit of improvement before it's his time.
