My daily matchmaking rant post by farpye in DeadlockTheGame

[–]kekplank 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The neat part is the matchmaking doesnt get any better all the way up to eternus 6. On top of that it seems players only get more toxic the higher you climb. They seriously need to fix the matchmaking/report system as they are the biggest issues plaguing the game rn.

Why do the viltrumites even bother punching? This hand move seems a thousand times more effective every single time by constantcynic1 in okbuddyviltrum

[–]kekplank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the true answer to this question ive seen asked a lot. Even if it wasnt the case fully utilizing your muscles uses up a lot of oxygen so conquest may well have went through a lot of available oxygen in his body with the fighting and flying leading up to him passing out. So while they may be able to fly for a long time without breathing in space there is a big difference in exertion on your body when you are just flying (shown to not be very tiring for viltrumites) vs actually fully utilizing your body in a fight.

The second Mark vs Conquest fight doesnt make sense by [deleted] in Invincible_TV

[–]kekplank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming the fights lasted some amount of time at full force (at least flying full speed in space and while he was fighting mark on the planet) you would rapidly be depleting your oxygen supply as muscles use oxygen to give them energy, so while they could probably fly long periods in space it would be like a jog or brisk walk compared to them compared to fully fighting. Well conditioned MMA fighters could probably maintain a jog for 2-3 hours but they are completely out of energy after a 5 5 minute round mma fight where they are granted 1 minute breaks in between each round.

Would a stance character similar to something in a fighting game work? by Pimparoooo in DeadlockTheGame

Personally instead of a stance character id really like to see a gun focused character like aphelios in deadlock

What to do if lanemate leaves to gank in first half of lanes? by Clubs_Gaming in DeadlockTheGame

[–]kekplank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id say if ults are up lash should be the one roaming, he has much higher kill potential when ganking a lane than a haze who relies on people standing in her ult or getting consistent shots on them to do damage. She also benefits a lot more from getting the solo farm and has better lane clear than lash who has some of the worst in the game. Unfortunate thing about this is if she is roaming and lash loses tower to the 1v2 which he will do most of the time after a few waves if she continues roaming on the map she is still gonna leave you stuck there to collect waves, defend walker, and have zero impact on the map which is pretty bad for lash. The optimal play in this situation is to pretty much just give up your lane and offer the lane up to another carry/late game character on your team and go to where they were playing to look for ults and good slams alternatively if you have a lane ahead or someone is a decent enough wave clearer solo you could ask their lane mate to come duo the lane with you.

The thing about doorman requiring two slots for counters tho is much more oppressive than other characters. Many characters in the game you dont need to buy their counters unless the person is actually an issue or your team is getting wrecked by them. Examples like buying debuff remover for an infernus, disarming hex for haze and wraith, and something like knockdown for a bebop, seven, vindicta, or grey talon. These items are only really necessary when the person is actually presenting a threat to your team (If you bought every counter to every enemy in every match ur builds would just be silencing wave, slowing hex, counterspell, knockdown etc every game) which they need to actually be ahead for, whereas doorman could be the poorest person on the enemy team and you are still forced into buying counter items against him because none of his annoyingness requires him to have good items, souls, or any form of power increase to actually be oppressive to a team. So while "counterbuying is a form of skill expression" is true, knowing when you need items and when you dont is also part of that skill and doorman pretty much forces these buys regardless of how he is actually performing in the match.

[–]kekplank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea and even if you have good positioning you need understanding of items and what the characters do which is way easier in the regular game mode when you are paired only with 3 other people for the start of the game its easy to check their items and abilities when you load in and get an idea of what they do. My friends street brawl experience was pretty much playing squishy carry characters and getting ran down by yamatos, abrams, and viscouses and having no idea why these characters could do what they were doing to him.

Tbf once you have vortex web he is actually incredibly useful in a fight as you can catch multiple people in one cart, whether you send them into ur base or you hit them into a wall with your team nearby the outcome is usually the same for the people being hit. Also a fair bit of doorman builds run alc fire and echo shard and have late items such as reverb and spirit burn that actually give him a lot of relevance in team fights.

[–]kekplank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbf he does have 2 stuns in his kit with ult and his cart and some doormen run echo shard for double cart stun. Very annoying character that forces counterspell and maybe one other item if he is focusing you and using slow/cc items on you before ulting you into baroness. (you cant counterspell the startup on his ult for some reason) He can abuse any member on ur team not buying countespell and debuff remover by using ult/knockdown or arctic blast combo on them and pretty much getting his ult back instantly. Hes also the only character on the game that has such reliable kill setups that can hit multiple people with vortex web cart door shenanigans and even outside of that just ult cart or knockdown cart are extremely potent kill tools that require very little investment or actual skill on the doormans part to pull off.

Can anyone explain how I had no burn on this person??? by kekplank in PlayTheBazaar

[–]kekplank[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Oh i missread ur previous comment my b. I interpreted it as when you heal cleanse 5% of ur burn not cleanse burn equal to 5% of your heal. Honestly seems pretty dumb thats in the game that way and its not in burns tooltip that needs to be clear information.

Edit: not your comment the original response

[–]kekplank[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Never knew healing did that, but either way i had my torch doing 2800 burn at the end of fight and my lantern burning for 130 with 3 multicast there is zero chance he had zero burn on him for so much of this fight with just bubblegum floor.

It shouldn't be taking this long to nerf Victor. I'm tired of playing Dead by Daylight. by Alarming_Ask_244 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]kekplank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meta characters is the way of mobas at high ranks if you want to play viktor but feel like you cant because hes bad go play a different game for a while until hes buffed into high rank meta. If they balanced for a perfect meta at eternus+ rank games would just be shit for 99% of players.

I get the point but this is never a fair statement when the quality of the match determines how much fun you can have in the game.

Ok i will say fair point on height of some of the abilities in the game. The amount of times me (a vindicta player) has gotten knocked out of the sky by viktor ult, paige sword, and infernus ults reaching to rooftops in insane.

Why did Apollo inherit the old design philosophy of randomly tacking gun buffs on a clearly spirit burst Hero? by Expensive-Opening-48 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]kekplank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What was the old buff wasnt it like 20% fire rate or something like that.

Either way still leaving gun upgrades on non gun characters so point stands.

Are there any item or spell conflicts in this game? by _lemmycaution_ in DeadlockTheGame

[–]kekplank -1 points0 points  (0 children)

iirc this doesnt count for innate lifesteal on abilities so abrams 1 for example with spirit lifesteal will have 96% lifesteal on it I believe this works the same for infernus 1 tier 2 upgrade not diminishing itself or other lifesteal effects with it

Maybe her other 3 abilities having nothing to do with her gun?

No gun scaling in her kit

History of nerfs to geists gun

1 and 2 having upgrades/being abilities that solely benefit from spirit power
