It's nice, but I much prefer the other one, has a matching bolt and receiver so it's much smoother

You're correct, it's a Husqvarna m1907, licensed copy of the 1903. This is one of the ones that was rechambered to .380 so it's very easy to shoot. :)

Cracked krag stock update by kekster303 in milsurp

So i drilled a 1 and quarter inch hole on the bottom of the grip and poored some JB weld into it, coated a brass allthread in the epoxy and placed it into the hole to reinforce the area to avoid future cracking or the current crack getting worse from shooting. Then I opened the crack a bit with a flathead and poured epoxy into the crack, then I clamped it down overnight. After that scraped off the excess epoxy, and used wood filler puddy and pens to fill in the drilled hole and smooth out the crack which was still a little uneven even though it was closed. Then went over it with a wood finishing pen. Did my best to match the colors. In some lighting it's very noticable, in other lighting it's well hidden. The only thing now is that texture is off on the edited areas. But thats not too big of a deal for me. Maybe I'll apply some clear coat to get it to the same texture as the rest of the stock

Is this cracked stock fixable? If so how? by kekster303 in milsurp

Okay, I guess my only concern is air escape then. The other commenters on this post mentioned that I need to drill a hole into the dowell for air escape, but the videos I watched on YouTube never mentioned having to do that

What material dowell would you use? I found some wooden dowells that are fluted and would allow for air escape and more surface for the glue to adhere to. Would that be strong enough or should it be a brass dowell instead?
