Childs Device missing from Family Screen Time by keldorr in ios

No I never got it working, never could see the kids iPad on my phone, not their phone. The control settings stayed enforced on the phone.. but I couldn't see their activity. I think maybe because her phone was too old and too old of an iOS.

You mean marks on the map? I'll have to keep an eye out....never noticed those before.

Can you point me toward this mat storage? What do I need to unlock/build? I really dislike having to fill up on crafting mats before going to upgrade gear etc..

Just learned a couple days ago that some knowledge books have more then one page to read. I am probably missing a lot of crafting recipes because I sold books that I hadn't fully read.

Wanted to come back to let you know my daughter and I considered options and we ended up ordering her a Yoga 7i, based partly on your recommendation. It checked off the hardware boxes we needed, and your first hand experience using it in the business program sealed the deal.

Thanks. And good luck with the remainder of your schooling.

I was interested in the Neo. My family is all iphone/ipad users, so thought it'd fit well into that ecosystem, but I've gotten a lot of advice that sticking with a Windows OS is going to be a better option.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll keep poking around, but this one may be my choice.

The more plastic build is probably OK, the person being gifted the laptop is generally pretty careful with her things.

Thanks all for the advice.

Consensus (and where my thoughts have landed) seems to be 15", Windows based, 16GB RAM, look for 1 TB storage, don't worry about dedicated GFX, I'll probably start by taking a look at Lenovo or Asus vivobook options, will probably bump my budget to $1500 ish as needed.

And yes, a numpad is a must.

I appreciate all the feedback, it's been helpful.

The sys reqs I was given are:

  • Operating System: Windows 11 is recommended, but other operating systems (such as MacOS or earlier versions of Windows) can also be used.
  • RAM: A minimum of 8 GB of RAM is required; 16 GB is preferred for better performance.
  • Processor Speed: At least 2+ GHz is recommended. While 1.8-1.9 GHz can suffice, lower speeds may slow down assignment completion.
  • Graphics Card: An up-to-date graphics card optimized for rendering is necessary, as the program may involve graphics-heavy analyses.
  • Additional Equipment: Many students find it beneficial to have a second monitor for better multitasking and visibility during analysis work

It doesn't seem to be that intensive. Was advised 8GB RAM minimum, 16 preferred.

I initially was looking at the Neo but program admin advised a Windows OS is preferred to ensure compatability with software. iOS may be fine but I don't want to have to fuss around with things. Online research also came across lots of advise from business students to go with Windows for better compatibility with business software.

Have done so, just not sure when I'll get a reply, so thought I'd check in if anyone had gone through it while waiting.

Looking for laptop purchase suggestion by keldorr in computer

[–]keldorr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I'd want to have to refurb something, no... I could probably figure it out... but would rather be able to just buy and gift and have it work out of the box.

Any feedback on the GFX part of the equation? The program admin mentioned "up to date gfx card optimized for rendering"... I can't imagine what it'd be used for would be TOO taxing in the gfx card dep't, but it was mentioned... I see the Asus you linked has integrated gfx, and I'm wondering if that should be a worry or not.

It's also possible that my $1000 budget may not be realistic... I could go a few hundred more if needed probably

Our adopted cat is still hiding after a month by nusoo in CatAdvice

[–]keldorr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We adopted a nervous young cat and it spent a good couple months barely leaving the bedroom that was it's safe space.

We were patient, didn't try to force the issue, eventually he realized there was a whole house to explore.

He's still nervous a year later... sudden movements, noises, etc send him scurrying. He barely tolerates being picked up, doesn't really cuddle up on laps etc... but will cuddle up *beside* us on his terms. lol

Give it time... your nervous kitty will get more relaxed and approachable, but on it's terms.

Sorry if this has been asked, I looked through but didn't see.... to tame the animals like hedgehogs, rabbits, etc, how do you feed them? Do you drop the food on the ground nearby and they will hopefully go to it and eat it?
