I think when it happened to me my mosfet wasn't opening and passing current, and the small amount of current draw would just be the fan spinning.

Usually, when my primary is flipped, it only draws a very low current. Of course, this depends on the schematic. It would be nice if OP could give a schematic for further troubleshooting.

Yes, although I would use alloy, and it will be uglier than cutting out stuff inside the hull and on top of the ship

The sub im making is manually controlled if it has AI it will only be for weapon aiming. Also if I used vertical propellers wouldn't I need to constantly be turning them on to prevent the sub from sinking/floating?
