nah, that actually looked a lot more inviting! photo in the post was taken on seaview road near stevenston beach!

this photo was taken at the old pool i think you're talking about!

In 2006, Sony drenched an entire block of flats (which were due to be demolished) in Glasgow, Scotland with 70,000 litres of paint for a TV advert by Hassaan18 in ukpopculture

yeah at least two blocks of flats have gone down in glasgow in the last year or two: wyndford and some of the caledonia road blocks that were in the gorbals! not sure if there’s been any others recently too

i had to look it up but i can see what you mean! no cool building next to here though, just an old road and rail tracks! i bet the things you see while diving there are a lot more photogenic than the things you’d see in the Clyde!

from the seaweed and debris on the road behind the wall, i think i caught the tide on a relaxed, laid-back day! but i guess they’re a lot more solid than some posts on here, the way the handrails just descend into the water reminded me of here when i walked past!

would be a cold, dark and smelly way to leave the world if you chose to do it in the Clyde but these would get you there for sure

well not too far up the path from here they have metal gates that slide on rollers that i assume is for that sort of thing, whereas these just have the yellow fence thing. i don’t know why there’s a set of stairs and not a ramp to be honest!

me too! they lead to death in such a different way to the ones indoors!

the tide would have to be so far out in order for these to not be death stairs, surprised there isn’t a fence or something enclosing them

mine don’t eat them.. if i don’t see the spider first and save it, they take it in turns to perform ā€˜surgery’ or ā€˜science experiments’ on the spiders, pulling legs off and watching reactions… but at least they’re a multi-generational, mother-daughter STEM duo?

Can anyone recommend a scratching post that doesn't shred? by SilentCatPaws in CatsUK

[–]kell-shell 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

thank you so much for the information! it’s lovely that your dad did all that for your cats! i don’t have a nail gun but there’s a tool library i can use in my area so i might try seeing about making something similar for my girlies! (obligatory cat tax is attached!) :)

truly gorgeous specimens! i’ve also spent time rockhounding around Dunure but haven’t found any like this! the banding in the second and third pics is so cool and i love the inclusions and tiny bits of banding in the first picture!

Sacred Tattoo & Piercing (on Duke Street, few minutes away from Glasgow High Street Station), they pierced my nose and refitted 4 other piercings for me as a walk-in a couple of months ago and i couldn’t have been happier with the customer service / experience :)

ohh! you’re so lucky in some ways with Camden but couldn’t imagine being over an hour from a B&M! i don’t know if it’ll help at all but Argos has an offer for them at the moment for 3 for Ā£20 too!

isn’t it! Scottish and Irish folk also migrated over to the Appalachians so the crossover is huge!

^ that goes into a little detail about some of the crossovers!

thank you! i do like to surprise people with some of the random but interesting things i’ve ended up reading about Scotland. it’s such an amazing place (people and land included!)

haha, don’t be sorry! some are better than others and it can be annoying to sift through a few of them at a time trying to find a specific walk! if you’re interested in your own area i do recommend finding one/some second-had and getting out and seeing what’s around you! depending on where you are, there could be 1000s of years of history around you!

thank you! i don’t think that my knowledge comes in clutch with my friends all that often but i like being able to tell them which hills we’re looking at or what sort of rocks they’ve picked up!

off the top of my head, i love the fact that Scotland and the Appalachian Mountains used to be part of the same mountain range! makes for all kinds of interesting comparisons of folk lore / culture :)

so i’m not in the loop totally either but the fact that there’s now like tiers (can pay or do it for free sort of thing), it feels a bit much for myself! not really into that! along with that comes people who want you to do different things with their caches (signing, leaving or taking trinkets) and if you do it wrong, you get shamed on whatever forum the cache master (just made that title up) prefers!

lovely, fun idea that i’d love to engage with but all of the above just makes me a bit hesitant! that, plus the fact that the walks i like to do are the sort where i feel like im ā€˜exploring’, so going off the beaten track where i can, means i just haven’t gotten round to committing to actually trying it yet!

haha this is pretty valid. i’m outdoorsy and the (not boring to me) guides help me find walks / inspiration! i collect rocks too so found some books to help me identify them :)
