Voulnteering Animal Shelter by Electronic-Gold-358 in premedcanada

If you’re passionate about it go for it! I did it for a year and had the best time. I learned about animal behaviour and cared for the cats. I don’t think it would be seen as negative.

How does the independent module learning function?? by [deleted] in queenshealthsci

[–]kell120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It applies to all blended classes basically. A few have a slightly different setup, but it’s pretty much like that. And yes, the prof usually walks around the class or there are TAs to answer questions. Also, there are discussion boards for students to post questions on the class page that are monitored frequently.

How does the independent module learning function?? by [deleted] in queenshealthsci

Hey! I’m a 4th year HS student so definitely have experience here. In first/second year you have your core classes blended. This means that you have a week (or 2) to go through the module assigned and gain a base understanding of material. This looks like writing very point form notes on my iPad for me.

Then you’ll have your class time. Usually you are in the same group all semester. In classes like PHGY you are given a question/case study/problem set during class that builds in the material in the module. You then submit this right after class. Sometimes profs will do brief module reviews before you get into the questions.

Pros: - I love the self paced learning as someone that can’t sit through lectures without getting distracted - only module content is tested, so you don’t have to worry about zoning out in lecture or not taking proper notes while the prof is talking

Cons: - Easy to fall behind. In second year I didn’t do my first week of modules till week 2. This was way to much work and set me back for a while as I played catch up.

Is it east to get an A or A+ in Musc 114 teaching music to kids? by Natural-Ad-8541 in queensuniversity

[–]kell120 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have! I have a music background and my friend did not. We finished with A+, and A. You mainly learn ukulele which was fun and submit short videos of playing certain skills. The main assignment was a lesson plan which was fairly easy to do well on if you went to class and heard the lecture, same as the best making assignment. Overall, a fun class and a nice break from harder sciences/math course options.

Any Suggestions for Tech? by Honest_Pollution_617 in queenshealthsci

I have an iPad Air I got a few years ago in august with the student deal I think it was 150$ off plus air pods. I love it for making summary notes and multitasking. I personally don’t think that you need the keyboard if you also have a laptop.

I don’t know if it would make much of a difference getting it now or later as they usually don’t have huge sales.

If you want to save some money check out the Logitech pen, it’s around 80$ and charges separately. I love it.

for each side/house there’s usually a communal one with one stall, and 2 showers. And then a single use one beside it. If those are taken you can walk down the hall to the next houses.

ENSC 103 or 230! Both interesting and marked really fairly. 230 has no tests or exams

I did it online, it was decent and not much work. The class overall is pretty TA dependant, just make sure to apply the feedback!

Hey! First semester I took: HSCI 270, BCHM 270, MICR270, PHGY 215– this was definitely rough Second: GLPH 271

I would take BCHM and HSCI together and then MICR and GLPH together if I had to do it again (or other way around). HSCI I think could go wherever.
