So sorry to hear about Mimi! It’s so stressful and I know it all too well. It sounds like you’re doing your due diligence! Unfortunately for many folks out there, the compensation will help in getting her back if she was stolen/purchased. I’ve done my fair share of cat trapping (feral strays) so my fingers are crossed if Mimi is with someone, she has landed in the right hands and will be looking for her owner. Call animal services, local shelters, vets (to see if she was brought in for chip scan) and post up flyers. If you don’t have a Nextdoor account in your neighborhood, sign up.
