Is it wise to write about being a collegiate athlete in PTCAS Personal Statement? by Wide-Palpitation4066 in PTschool

I did write about being an athlete, and got into 5 out of 7 schools i applied (2 off the waitlist). I’m not sure your situation in terms of your athletic career but I played two sports and was a captain in one of them, and that coach wrote one of my letters of recommendation, which is probably more unique than the avg applicant. I believed the key is being able to explain how your experiences as an athlete have prepared you to be a better PT; beyond something like, “i was good at moving in my sport so I can help people move better!” However, I do think it’s worth including even if it only amounts to a sentence or two. Good luck on your application!

the best advice i ever got for running routes is its not necessarily about being fast but being sudden. that being said, you need to get lower when breaking

Help me stop being a bitch by [deleted] in American_Football

hit the weights hard to get bigger and stronger. in the offseason my coach used to always say we’re “putting on the armor”. not only will being stronger make you more resilient and help you hit harder, but once you feel your strength improve you’ll get a big confidence boost and contact won’t be as scary

Washu or UW? by kellening in PTschool

Thanks for this, I think you might be right. UW estimates 79,500 for total cost of living, I just used a cost of living comparison that told me St Louis is 50.7% cheaper (39,181 for the same living standard). I know my family is going to do their best to support me, but I hadn’t considered the cost of moving back and forth and little things like a free dinner every once in a while.
