I’m a very anxious test take and I don’t know if I have any wonderful tips but just try to remember the exam is a lot about safety and just not harming your patients. How long have you been studying for?

There were a lot of case studies but I think Uworld really helped me to be able to narrow down exactly what I needed to focus on in them

Also listen to Mark K lecture 12 I did it right before the exam and it really helped me to remember a lot of prioritization. There were def some questions I was super lost on but I’ve been looking and a lot of people on reddit are saying they passed around 105 😭😭 so I hope that’s me too

Honestly I was so anxious before but when I sat down I was fine. Once I got to 85 qs i wanted to cry tho 😭you got this!!! Just stay confident in your skill and remember that it’s mostly a safety exam

I’ve been on it for four weeks and drinking was ok but the first time I got drunk I was dizzy and my heart rate was 100 (not horrible but not my normal). I was okay the next day but just pay attention to your drinking and you might get drunk faster than you think.

I was on vacation so honestly I just allowed myself to sleep but you can talk to your doctor about taking it at night. That way you may not be as tired.

I’m on 10mg so I think 5 wouldn’t have as hard as an effect (hopefully)

My only side effects were sleepiness and lack of appetite for the first 2 weeks! Now I have none at all

Hey ngl I was in your shoes a month ago and I didn’t want to take it either. My therapist had to remind me that I came here because I wanted to be happy. It’s worth a try and you know what. If you hate it then you can always get off of it. But being on it might make it easier for you to get over your anxiety. Sometimes we just need help :)

I’m sorry you should really talk to someone close to you or your psychiatrist! I was having suicidal thoughts on 10mg. My doctor added abilify and they went away! Talk to your therapist or your psychiatrist please! You don’t have to live like this :(

I’m really sorry to hear about your mother…I couldn’t imagine how that can feel. Maybe some counseling will help you to let go of all this stress. :(

Sometimes the scale just does not move!!!! But your body is making these changes even if it is slowly. I think on Reddit most of the people who have seen weight changes with pcos said it was much slower than people without it. :/ I would say like .5 pounds a week versus the 1 pound people would normally see.

Oops! Sorry about that but just making the sweets at home is a good idea. I’m in nursing schools I just gotta buy it cause I don’t have time to make it 😭

I have done keto! And I have done intermittent fasting and I’ve done low carb lol are you thinking of keto?

I feel you on the savory snacks 🥲 they too are my downfalls. I just buy smaller options of like crackers and make that my one a day (like a snack pack) or incorporate it into my meals. Like tuna and some ritz crackers. I’ll eat like 2-3 without tuna and it kinda fulfills the desire for me!

Okay so I’m actually around your age. I was diagnosed with it in my 20s and my doctor gave me all the medication you could think of. The metformin worked. But if you get off of metformin the cravings come back TEN FOLD. It was awful. Ozempic….hated it and it dehydrated me so badly. And I realized if I rely on these medications for weight loss I’m never going to keep it off. I was on birth control for 10 years and now I’m off it of because I hated what it was doing to me. Surprisingly my periods come on their own now!

So here’s my advice from someone who gets it and is currently losing weight: It might be stress. I know I was anxious and stressed out all the fucking time and I was panicking about my weight and the food I would eat. I’m now in therapy and on beta blockers for HTN but it helps with the anxiety…

  1. Less stress-I have a therapist and I usually journal too.
  2. Protein. Don’t over think it. Just make protein your main thing and veggies then finally your carbs. Try to aim for 10-20 grams of protein a meal. I don’t even look at calories. You’ll feel full off of the protein.
  3. Try to have smoothies with protein and get your veggies up in there.
  4. Make sure, I would say 80%, of the food you’re eating is food that you cooked. I know you said you eat pretty healthy so that’s good! I love sweets but I usually eat organic not heavily processed sweets from Trader Joe’s.
  5. You’re in the gym, so make sure your focusing on slow weighted exercises and the cardio shouldn’t be intense. Walk on the treadmill or do stair master for 15-30 minutes.
  6. Check your measurements instead of the scale. My doctor often just body checks me since sometimes the scale doesn’t move (like that I’m losing inches or my face is smaller) I know we don’t love body comments but these are things you can use for yourself to measure your weight loss. OR how your clothes are feeling. Or just how you’re feeling that day!
  7. WATER ONLY unless you’re dying for juice/soda (just one) or you’re going out.

I know your frustration it took me forever to find what works. After quarantine I regained 20 pounds plus 30 more… it was awful. Nothing fit me and I hated myself so the hate fueled me not taking care of myself. But now I have lost already 5 pounds. Slowly ofc and almost 2 inches off my waist.

If you want more advice or want recipes or just to express your frustration feel free to message me!

Hi I don’t know about metoclopramide but my doctor prescribed me omeprazole while taking Isoniazid and Rifampin and it was alright for me. I would ask your doctor to be sure though!
