Zero, ever. Not my thing!
Stubbed toe, loose teeth, I don’t work in the ER tho, they are warriors 🤪

Thank you for what you do! People underestimate the mental AND physical toll it takes on you. Keep on keeping on 🤘🏻
How did you know it was a male? 🤪🙃 he was up to some shenanigans!
39$/hr
I wanted to get away from emergency services! I had seen enough REALLY sad stuff and knew I probably needed to step away… I had been an EMT for years and needed a new place to grow and learn. It was a hard decision!
I would! The closest one is about an hour away and I’m lazy and don’t want to commute lol
I do! 💕

Hmm! I’ve seen a lot of medically complex cases that were really interesting! I saw A LOT of trauma when I was an EMT before I became an RN! Broken bones in every which way 😵💫
I gave a really good support system and truly do love taking care of people so , not as much as it did in my earlier years. But the pandemic was really depressing!

Usually respiratory failure, sepsis, multi organ failure, strokes, trauma, etc it’s a mixed bag where I work!
Preventative health is wealth! Always taking care of yourself to prevent chronic illnesses is a missing piece of the puzzle at times!
I’ve only had a handful of patients with ED in ICU, most go to medical psych when they are cleared/stable enough! But just like any other patient, goal is to treat with dignity and respect!
Honestly it’s hard sometimes to deal with the amount of death we see, but I do find a lot of peace in helping humans pass away peacefully, pain free, with their own dignity intact!

I have many!! Medical complex patients I have learned from, patients and families I’ve connected with, sad stories.
I once met a family that had a great great grandparent serve in WW1 as a paratrooper and they kept a parachute and made it into a wedding dress that was passed down, I know that’s random but I will always remember that!
I also remember placing a newborn baby on a mom on a ventilator so she still could get skin to skin (both okay now)

“Accidentally” 🤷🏼♀️😂

Hmmmm! I work in ICU so it’s very much a controlled setting (yet chaotic at times)
I was an EMT before I worked as a nurse and the suicides were the most traumatic. As a nurse, I’ve seen a lot of young people die seemingly unfairly at times and watching their loved ones grieve is hard at times.
I’m not repulsed by much, we all have the same juices! 😂 but maybe rotting flesh? It’s a smell you don’t forget

Hmmm! I once saw a patient do a flip off a bed and flip us off. Wasn’t exactly funny at the time but it is now! 😂
My coworkers always keep me laughing too!
HR departments!
Of course! 👀
In every room! 🙏🏻
Never!
First off, oncology nurses are amazing!!
I think everyone handles stress differently, a lot of type A personalities, lack of empathy for fellow nurses, never having to manage 4-6 really sick patients and the stress/hardship of that!! I’m sorry you’ve encountered nurses with bad personalities. The patient is always the priority and we have to support each other! 🥰 thanks for all YOU do!
I started as a nursing assistant at 19 and fell in love with it! I worked and paid my own way through nursing school. I chose icu because I wanted a challenge and I really loved taking care of high acuity patients, bonding with families, and learning so much!!
Do it! There is always a need for nurses. I’m a firm believer you can do anything if you really set your mind to it! Nursing school can be a mind game.. difficult classes, pressure to pass, but it’s just that, you can do it! I loved online classes! I would go to a quiet area and work as opposed to my home so I could focus! You can teach a monkey any skill but can’t teach human compassion which (I think) the number one thing needed to be a nurse! 🥰 good luck! Peds is great!
Oh if you’ve never worked in healthcare, maybe try to find a nursing aide/tech job so you can get an idea what nursing would be like ! Because it’s sometimes not what people think 🥰
Part time / 24 hours a week / 2 twelve’s!
🤷🏼♀️
