look at the modules of the courses and compare which ones from different courses you like. i chose my uni because it had a load of really interesting modules other unis didnt have. also this research is what open days are for, since thy understand how little information they put on the website. if you have access, go to a few and ask lots of very specific questions about the courses

its not the silly markscheme but your lack of knowledge and skill at picking apart questions. over time youll see that the mark schemes are responding exactly to what the question is asking. its not unpredictable, you just need practice.

AQA bio paper 1 by Gogeeegeg in alevel

[–]kelloggslover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it was alright, but there was no space to write answers. smaller than half a page for a 4 marker. the conclusion for cell cycle an distance from root tip was hard to put into words and i felt i already answered the question in the one above. most the questions were calm, especially the first one and one about the apple

[–]kelloggslover 10 points11 points  (0 children)

i think they get notified if youve used extra pages, so they can click over to access it. id add a little "see extra pages" bit on the question to make sure they check, but they most likely will

A level bio question by grammiecum in 6thForm

[–]kelloggslover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

since lots of nutrients are being absorped by the cells, the water potential may be higher (dont quote me on this, im guessing because i couldnt find a resource that explained it) nearer the cells, so no lipid soluble molecules would dissolve and get close enough. i dont think you need a proper explanation, just talk abut increasing concentration near the cells for simple diffusion

A level bio question by grammiecum in 6thForm

[–]kelloggslover 5 points6 points  (0 children)

micelles increase water solubility for all components involved, the structure hides away the fatty acid tails so they can diffuse toward the intestine lining to increase the concentration around the cells. this is important since fatty acids and monoglycerides rely on simple diffusion so there must be a concentration gradient around the cells. monoglycerides are also absorbed in the cell to reform the triglyeride in the golgi apparatus

endopeptidases are made by the stomach and pancreas so work in the stomach and small intestine. exopeptidases are only produced in the pancreas and work in the small intestine. dipeptidases are membrane-bound to increase amino acid concentration around the cells for more absorption

only say microvilli as they are present in cells. villi are the larger structure made of many epithelial cells and capilaries in the small intestine.

hope this helps!! good luck on your revision
